Pros:
They were responsive and punctual
They provided the services I asked for at exactly the price they quoted
An HVAC friend of mine took a quick look at their work and generally approved.
Cons
Take all this with a grain of salt. I am not a professional, and there may be good reasons for all that follows.
I feel like the way they ran the gas line and the exhaust was not efficient. They ran the gas through a window and across the basement - they had little choice in this I think, as the alternative would have been to try to drill through about a foot of stone. I am not clear though why they didn't run the exhaust to the same window. Instead, they ran it across the basement again, under my porch and cut a hole through the wooden lattice of my porch. I feel this detracts from the aesthetic appeal of the property. They could have also run it to another window, already cracked, that was about 15 feet closer and would leave the exhaust venting at the back of the house instead of the front. Had they consulted me about what I wanted, this is what I would have suggested.
They were not the cleanest of labor crews. They did not lay down any sort of drop cloth. My kitchen floor was in serious need of a mopping as was my refrigerator, which they needed to move. Unfortunately, they weren't very careful when they moved the fridge and my laminate floor was scratched. It is surely not the only or even the most noticeable scratch, but damaged it was none the less. My basement steps had more than a few drops of heating oil on them from the removal of the old equipment. They left behind some trash from their lunch break, including a beer bottle. I can't be certain that the beer bottle was theirs, as I also enjoy beer however, I don't remember ever putting a beer bottle in that particular corner of my basement.
Can't beleive how low utility costs are running with this unit. Expect 40% to 50% savings over heating oil.
Would recommend Forsburg Furnace to everyone.
