I was interested in having BRC do some remodeling on my property. Pete Trotta came to my home and later sent me an estimate by e-mail. I own many properties and have much experience working with contractors and the estimate wasn't what I'm used to seeing. The estimate was only a general list of the jobs with no specifics, and a rather large total for the work. I asked Mr. Trotta for a breakdown of the prices for each job and clarified what I thought were misunderstandings about the work to be done. Over two e-mail volleys he wouldn't give me any kind of breakdown of the pricing. I told him we would need to work on the amount. He offered to help me "get more bang for my buck" but didn't give me any specific ways to do this or ways to lower the price. He finally went on a very long rant in his next e-mail stating that contractors are expensive and told me "good luck in my endeavors" ending the conversation. I was frustrated and told him that no contractor had ever treated me so badly. He replied with a verbally abusive e-mail stating that he was glad he wouldn't be working for me and that my husband, who had recently passed away after a long battle with cancer, must be glad he had gotten away from me. I have retained a printed copy of the entire e-mail correspondence for anyone who would like to read it.
