I don't know how Schuler sets its pricing, but it's ridiculous. I wasn't home at the time of their arrival, as they came an hour-and-a-half early, but was on my way. Another adult who was home at the time called out of concern over the prices she'd just been quoted: $118.25 to caulk the sink, and $185 (yes, $185!!!) to switch out the sprayer head. I was home within 10-15 minutes, at which point they informed me that the costs would double, as they had been "on the job" for an hour already. They explained that time included their drive from their shop in Allentown. The two men who came to my home were polite and professional; I have no bone to pick with them. But the fees Schuler charges are outlandish! I had to pay $89 for the two gentlemen to do absolutely nothing, and then leave. I had someone else come over and, for $30 -- the cost of the sprayer head plus the caulk -- the job was done in less than an hour. Schuler's own employee had said replacing the head would have taken about 5 minutes; five minutes, for $185 times two! I've long known the original owners of Schuler Plumbing, who are now retired. I don't like to say anything negative about the company they built. But I would never, ever hire these folks again at these absurd prices. I'm better off watching a how-to video on you-tube and doing it myself.
