Lou's Garage is a family owned and family operated business that has been in operation since 1951.The owners are three brothers--Chris, Lou and Mike--who sell and service high quality import autos.  Their sales lot contains fewer cars than most other used car dealers, but this is because they utilize an interesting approach to selling cars: the customer provides a description of the used car they would like (e.g., make, model, color, specific packages, etc.) and pays a $500 refundable fee. This information is then used when the brothers travel to auto auctions to identify possible cars for the prospective buyer.  Photos of the car selections are available for review prior to the sale, but the most important part of the deal is that the brothers' automotive expertise is used in assessing the cars' condition and appropriateness for the buyer.  For example, Chris "passed" on at least two  used vehicles matching the description that we wanted because he said the cars appeared to have been "mis-used" by prior owner or owners and were not acceptable to their standards.  After we agreed to the purchase of the 2010 Toyota Camry XLE with 36,000 miles, Chris advised that he would put four new tires on the car to bring it up to their standards, which he did.  And finally, the car was cleaned and refurbished to "newness" by Mike, the brother my husband calls "Michelangelo" because of the care he lavishes on every car he details!
