We've had him do work for us on other properties. He was supposed to start the work on our property in spring, but he didn't get started until August. Actually, he had never started any work. All he did was purchase a large window for the basement, he was supposed to remove the existing damaged window and replace it with the new one. I gave him a check for the cost of the new window including installation. He cashed the check, pocketed the money didn't start the work, He never refunded the money! I contacted him about this and he was incredibly rude and nasty to me on the phone. He never even gave us a contract.
The guy can't be trusted he has no integrity. I loaned him a tile saw to use and return, never saw it again just ripped me off for it.
