We worked with Jason at Mortgage America. Jason is a good rep and explained every aspect of our mortgage very clearly. There were no games or surprises. The rate was fair and Jason worked with us to meet our needs. I would definitely recommend Mortgage America and Jason Breidinger specifically. My realtor was impressed with this guy and he recommended him to other clients.
The process was pretty smooth overall. Yes, you have to prove your income and go through the process. I will say the closing company made a small mistake, but that is not MA's fault. The closing went smoothly and we love our home.
Note that Mortgage America is basically a broker that will go and sell your mortgage. In fact, they have an investor arranged before your closing. But the process was seamless. It's worth it not to have to deal with a big bank and all their games and layers of management.

Was not happy with the mortgage services received from the broker that we dealt with. We came to the settlement table and was very shocked at what we saw. It was not at all what we expected. The information that we relayed to the broker did not transfer to the Settlement Sheet. At that point, when you have a family of 4 with young children and you have spent the last 4 days of your life dealing with the stress of moving the entire contents of your house and making sure that you are out of said house by the morning of settlement, there is not much you can do. My advice to anybody going thru this is to not trust anybody. Constantly check to make sure that your broker AND your real estate agent understand your money needs!

I worked with him once and he was very patient. He followed through with my refinances and mortgage. We can reach him on his cell phone and what ever questions we have he'd bend over backwards to make sure we were satisfied. If ever I need to refinance again I would go to him, but hopefully I don't need to do that!
