ASHLEY FURNITURE HOME STORE

On 11/7/2014 I made a small furniture purchase a couch and loveseat totally $1023. I was told about financing by the manager Ray and sales person Debbie. I was told I had 3 months to pay the furniture in full. If not I would be charged a flat1 percent fee on the balance of what I owed. I asked several questions and the manager was very clear it was a flat fee of 1 percent. To my embarrassment I did not read over the contracts. I proceeded have the payment drawn directly from my account 2x a month. After about five months I called to get my balance as I was not being sent any kind of statements. I was told my balance was higher then when I started. I was lied to about the financing it is actually 1.8 percent markup when equals 80% and its a furniture leasing company. After several calls to the manager Ray he seemed genuinely eager to help clear things up. He worked out a deal with the company that I would have to pay half of what I signed for. I was not happy but I agree as I felt so stupid for not reviewing the documents, A few more months go by and I call again my balance Is at the beginning again, I called the finance company and explained the deal I was made. They went back and listened to the phone call between the manager Ray and the fiancé guy and say Ray was not being honest. ( They tape their calls) I call the manager back and his response was, they won't have the call recorded as I called my friend on his cell that's high up in the company. He would clear it up. When I finally got a hold of Ray again he basically said too bad you signed the contracts. Now today I found out that three weeks after making my purchase that someone from the store named Michelle called the finance company updating the contracts and raising the price by 600. dollars she called that the delivery man was at my house with the furniture and the only way the would deliver was for me to sign the contracts so the finance company approved a higher amount. Meanwhile I picked up the furniture myself a week earlier. I have place a total of 12 calls to the owner of the store over the course of 4 months . He has not returned a single call. I received a call from the manager who said we had a meeting and are not willing to do anything else for you . Basically leave us alone.
