Erik and his company Affordable Energy came out and gave me the correct advice compared to 4 other well know insulating contractors. Example, 2 of the contractors recomended, they remove all my attic insulation so they could seal the air leaking into the attic from the heated areas at a cost of as high as $8,000.00 just for the removal. Erik was able to seal the majority of the air leaks in less than 1/2 of a day by himself. That alone saved me over $15,000 from the lowest bid. In my 30+ year as a property renovator, I found Erik to be the best contactor with regard to honesty and price. I highly recommend him and if he can not fit you in, you would be wise to wait untill he could fit you in.

We contacted Affordable Energy Concept after experiencing a cool winter in our dining room. Erik made an initial visit and suggested we have additional insulation added in the ceiling. When we stated we were having a new heat pump installed, he said he would return after that job was completed. We offered Erik a "tip for the trip" which he declined. He returned two months later and completed the job at the initial cost he had quoted. Erik is knowledgeable at his craft, very polite, and punctual. It was a pleasure to work with him and his assistant.

It is also notable that Affordable Energy Concepts gave us very good advice about a previous, botched job to remove vermiculite from our attic that had to be corrected before we installed new insulation. The team was great! They were very friendly and happy to answer all of my questions and their work was super thorough and quick. While onsite they found some extra work that needed to be done that was outside of their original quote, they completed everything that needed to be done (including the extra work) and honored their original quote. Super happy with the team and their work, would recommend them to anyone in the area!

These two gentlemen went above and beyond their call of service. I also showed them a problem I was having in my garage and they gave me a few recommendations. They took the time to get to know their customer and my needs. He also checked out the circulation in my house to make sure it was ok. He checked out my furnace made recommendations there as well. I did not have a radon tester in my home, he went as far as to purchase one for me no extra charge and brought it to my home even after his job was complete. Thank you guys so much. I would hire them anytime.

Great company run by Erik Segan. Erik comes to your house and provides you a detailed list of areas of improvement while completing a blower door test. After I scheduled a day for him to return I had some questions and he was readily available to talk and text on the phone. On the day of our scheduled job, he arrived with his coworker and they went right to work. They were timely, friendly, and professional. They kept the areas they worked in extremely clean by taping up plastic and putting tarp on the floors. While completing the job, Erik noticed that the people who insulated the attic in the past did it incorrectly which could have started a fire! He brought down the burnt paper and fixed the hazard while in the attic. Throughout the air sealing and insulation, I stuck my head in and said hello. He would take the time to show me what he was working on. He is very knowledgeable along with his coworker. Afterwards, they ran another blower door test to show the improvements and reviewed over other techniques to reduce energy consumption. A little about myself I am a 35 year old man and a very big DIY type of person. With that said, eventually you need to get confirmation that what you've done is correct. These guys crushed my DIY capabilities to the point that they made even simple alterations actually look good. The best part about these guys is that they only suggest improvements they would do in their own house. Highly recommend.
