I called Dan after a yellow jacket nest started forming on the front of our house. He returned my call within minutes, and was prompt, professional, reasonably priced, and our problem was well taken care of.

He came on 1st of September and then I called him back because the bees were still going in. We had put spray there and he said we probably put spray and they weren't going back into whatever he put in. So, he came back and he found the nest in the house. So he was good. He didn't charge me the second time, the first time it was $289. What I liked the most about him was that he came back. When I called him and I said, "We're still seeing bees," he did come back. He couldn't help that it didn't work the first time. He had the right stuff, it was just the fact that we had been spraying all kinds of stuff to try to get rid of it. They were going into the house and we saw them and so we were spraying stuff and then he came back and he said that what we had sprayed, they weren't going to come back in and out, they were just going to stay there. It was probably an okay price.

We have used The Bee Man's services for the last three years. He comes out in the spring to spray around the outside of our house and inside our attic. We had a bee problem when we moved into this house three years ago, but have not had a problem since. Kevin contacts us every spring to make sure we want the service again, tells us he will get back to us as soon as the bees start getting active again when the weather gets warm enough, then calls when he is going to come out to do the service. He is prompt, courteous, and thorough. The best part of the service is that he guarantees his product through the end of each year.

He came out and told us what a professional he was and we told him we had a bee problem. That my husband had been stung a number of times. It appeared the nest was under the deck and he hesitated about going under there - because he said he was going to get dirty. He finally went under the deck and said we had aggravated the nest trying to use bee repellent, but he would spray the nest with his chemicals. He did that and then asked for the money. And said the bees that were remaining would go into the nest and die. Next day bees were still flying around and my husband got stung again and we called the Bee Man. He said we had to wait for a few days and they were probably foragers. After another week, we called him back and he didn't show up until 9:00 p.m. and at that time he told us we would have to be patient. Another week passed and he came back out and said he didn't know where the nest was - could be in our neighbors yard or anywhere. So he said again that we would have to patient and maybe move the flowers that were on the deck. I told him they had been there for years, but why were the bees there now. We did remove the flowers the bees continue to fly around and approx. 1 1/2 months later, seemed to go away. Not at all happy with the way the work was performed.
Response from The Bee Man
"I was extremely disappointed after reading this review. I am very glad that Angies list gives all businesses an opportunity to respond to comments in a the form of a rebuttal. Some of what [removed member name] comments are true and some are told from his own perspective as he see it and in fact is not the way I truly remember it. So here is my side of the story. I did do work for the Spezialettis. I arrive and notice that [removed member name] had already attempted to correct the problem himself by putting a white insecticide powder in the area where the nest was at. In the process of doing this he admitted to me that he got stung several times. he left this out of his comments. I treated the area and told the [removed member name] that since the nest was not removed because it would have involved destroying a portion of his deck. They elected and I agreed that killing and leaving the nest in place was the better way to do this. I received a call back informing me that the wasps where still there, I made arrangements to go back but showed up later in the evening and the [removed member name] had gone out for the evening. I called them back and made arrangements to return. In the mean time we had a very heavy rain storm and when I returned I was willing to crawel back under the deck to see if the nest I had treated was still active. I also informed them that I was going to get very muddy if I did this since the ground under the deck was very wet . I was willing to do this never the less. The [removed member name] told me that if I wish they had no problem with me coming back when the ground had dried out. I returned several days later and crawled back under the deck and inspected the nest I had treated previously and found there was no activity. [removed member name] agreed with me that he too did not see any activity of the nest I traeted. He forgot to mention this point in his review, I did discover however that there were a stream of yellow jacket wasps coming through a large opening under the deck from the direction of their next store neighbors home. I searched under the whole deck for another nest and I could not locate an active nest. I concluded the wasps where coming from another nest site place off their property from their neighbor's property in a way that wasps sometimes are attracted to odors and sweets at a picnic. I could not determine why the wasps had a fascination with the [removed member name] deck.. I treated the first nest but I could not detect from where the second nest was located since it clearly was not on their property. I can honestly understand why the [removed member name] are upset. They paid for a service believing that a problem would be completely solved and from there perspective it was not. The problem that existed however was two fold one nest that clearly was one that was on their property and another nest that was not. I solved the problem of the nest that was on their property but made every attempt to determine where the other nest might be coming from and offered several theories. Trying to find a second nest under those circumstances is like finding a needle in a hay stack. I do not feel that I am responsible for not completely eradicating the [removed member name] wasp problem under these very unusual circumstances. If one should read and take the time to see the comments of my other customers one will discover I have received very high marks for my work. I stand behind my past record."

My husband and I noticed a few bees in our laundry room. I'm terrified of bees so I wanted the situation taken care of ASAP. I called and quot; The Bee Manand quot; - the receptionist answered the phone, took my information and said that she would pass it along to Kevin. He called back within 10 -15 min., I told him what was going on and he said that he would be out to my home within 1 - 4 hrs. He arrived in about 2 hrs. He assessed the situation - gave me some options and the prices, I told him to do whatever was necessary. At this point, more and more bees had entered the laundry room. He worked for about 1 hr - he and quot;deadenedand quot; the hive which ended up being the less costly method. He also killed all of the bees in the laundry room. I didn't notice any smell of chemicals - which was important to me as we have a dog. He was very pleasant and professional and I was thrilled to have the problem corrected so quickly.

He came the same evening I called, which I was not expecting! He fully explained the cost of his services and the options available - then recommended the least expensive approach! His work is guaranteed, which I really appreciate. I will definitely call him again (though I hope I don't have to).

We noticed a wasp go into our house in between 2 pieces of siding. I went up into the attic and found 2 small wasp nests about the size of golf balls. I had a hard time finding someone who treats wasps and was available - most were already booked up. The Bee Man returned my call, came out and gave me an estimate. I had him do the work while he was there. He went up into the attic and removed the 2 wasp nests and while spraying the attic found another small nest. He then sprayed around the house. He told me the work was gauranteed. He also said that the spray should take care of other pests - spiders, ants, centipedes... He was right. The wasps were gone and did not come back. We did not see any pests - spiders or centipedes.

My husband and I knew that we had bees moving in and out of a crack between the porch roof and our house. We did not think much of it until they started to show up in the house. My husband sprayed the area with Raid, but it didn't seem to do anything. We were killing a few bees each day for the past 2 weeks, and were unsure of where the bees were getting into the house. But this morning when I woke up, there were at least 30 of them in our family room, swarming the window. I called Kevin around 2 pm - he called me back right away and arrived to the house 2 hours later. He quickly identified the and quot;beesand quot; as German yellow jackets. He was very knowledgeable about the yellow jackets and quicky diagnosed the problem (that there were actually 2 different large nests). He educated me on my options and took his time. Once I decided what to do, he was able to provide the service on the spot - professional, thorough, friendly, honest, and fair in price. We had a fantastic experience with Kevin. We plan to invite him back in the springtime to and quot;bee-proofand quot; our house to help prevent this problem next year.

Response from The Bee Man
"The nest of yellow jackets was not where it usually is based on the location where they were going into. It happens on rare occasion that the entrance point is not the nest entrance and can be several feet or more away. It is at this point that it was decided that it would be more sensible and less costly to treat the entry point rather then do addition structural damage to the house which could result in greater expense to repair. There are always two options to begin with in treating a problem with a yellow jacket infestation; one to treat the nest and leave it inside the wall or two, remove the nest. The second option is more expensive but there is a fifty percent chance of detecting an odor from the nest when it decays if left in. I could have eventually located the nest but the damage to Nancy's house might have been extensive. In this case it was more prudent to kill the nest and leave it in. The nest will eventually dry up and the odor if detected will eventually dissipate completely. I thank you for the opportunity to serve you."

After donning his hat, net and gloves, he climbed up the ladder and sprayed the nest. The objective was to kill the queen and remove the nest. He explained that once the queen was gone, the others would not come back.

I called the Bee Man yesterday and he promptly returned my call. He could not come until today when I was unavailable so my husband met with him. My husband said that the Bee Man called before he arrived and that he was easy to talk to, informative, professional and thorough. The Bee Man was neat and cleaned up everything afterwards. He is very busy and got at least 3 calls during the hour or so that he was at the house. He certainly knows his business and is a gentleman.

For the past few years we have had a problem with bees nesting in and around the brick and siding on our house. It seemed to get worst every year.
This year we decided that we needed professional help and called The Bee Man. He came out the same day and explained the problem to us. We agreed to have him return at a later date and spray our house. He returned on schedule and took care of the problem. We felt he was knowledgable and honest. He gave us a discounted price when I mentioned finding him on Angie's List even though I was not aware of his Angie's List coupon. How often does that happen?
We are very pleased with the results. No bees!
If we have another problem in the future we will definitely use The Bee Man again!
