We have used The Bee Man's services for the last three years. He comes out in the spring to spray around the outside of our house and inside our attic. We had a bee problem when we moved into this house three years ago, but have not had a problem since. Kevin contacts us every spring to make sure we want the service again, tells us he will get back to us as soon as the bees start getting active again when the weather gets warm enough, then calls when he is going to come out to do the service. He is prompt, courteous, and thorough. The best part of the service is that he guarantees his product through the end of each year.
"I was extremely disappointed after reading this review. I am very glad that Angies list gives all businesses an opportunity to respond to comments in a the form of a rebuttal. Some of what [removed member name] comments are true and some are told from his own perspective as he see it and in fact is not the way I truly remember it. So here is my side of the story. I did do work for the Spezialettis. I arrive and notice that [removed member name] had already attempted to correct the problem himself by putting a white insecticide powder in the area where the nest was at. In the process of doing this he admitted to me that he got stung several times. he left this out of his comments. I treated the area and told the [removed member name] that since the nest was not removed because it would have involved destroying a portion of his deck. They elected and I agreed that killing and leaving the nest in place was the better way to do this. I received a call back informing me that the wasps where still there, I made arrangements to go back but showed up later in the evening and the [removed member name] had gone out for the evening. I called them back and made arrangements to return. In the mean time we had a very heavy rain storm and when I returned I was willing to crawel back under the deck to see if the nest I had treated was still active. I also informed them that I was going to get very muddy if I did this since the ground under the deck was very wet . I was willing to do this never the less. The [removed member name] told me that if I wish they had no problem with me coming back when the ground had dried out. I returned several days later and crawled back under the deck and inspected the nest I had treated previously and found there was no activity. [removed member name] agreed with me that he too did not see any activity of the nest I traeted. He forgot to mention this point in his review, I did discover however that there were a stream of yellow jacket wasps coming through a large opening under the deck from the direction of their next store neighbors home. I searched under the whole deck for another nest and I could not locate an active nest. I concluded the wasps where coming from another nest site place off their property from their neighbor's property in a way that wasps sometimes are attracted to odors and sweets at a picnic. I could not determine why the wasps had a fascination with the [removed member name] deck.. I treated the first nest but I could not detect from where the second nest was located since it clearly was not on their property. I can honestly understand why the [removed member name] are upset. They paid for a service believing that a problem would be completely solved and from there perspective it was not. The problem that existed however was two fold one nest that clearly was one that was on their property and another nest that was not. I solved the problem of the nest that was on their property but made every attempt to determine where the other nest might be coming from and offered several theories. Trying to find a second nest under those circumstances is like finding a needle in a hay stack. I do not feel that I am responsible for not completely eradicating the [removed member name] wasp problem under these very unusual circumstances. If one should read and take the time to see the comments of my other customers one will discover I have received very high marks for my work. I stand behind my past record."
"The nest of yellow jackets was not where it usually is based on the location where they were going into. It happens on rare occasion that the entrance point is not the nest entrance and can be several feet or more away. It is at this point that it was decided that it would be more sensible and less costly to treat the entry point rather then do addition structural damage to the house which could result in greater expense to repair. There are always two options to begin with in treating a problem with a yellow jacket infestation; one to treat the nest and leave it inside the wall or two, remove the nest. The second option is more expensive but there is a fifty percent chance of detecting an odor from the nest when it decays if left in. I could have eventually located the nest but the damage to Nancy's house might have been extensive. In this case it was more prudent to kill the nest and leave it in. The nest will eventually dry up and the odor if detected will eventually dissipate completely. I thank you for the opportunity to serve you."
The bee man suited up and went to work. He neutralized the nest, and disposed of it.
He also provided assistance in helping me with deal with other bees and wasps on my property.
Great job.
This year we decided that we needed professional help and called The Bee Man. He came out the same day and explained the problem to us. We agreed to have him return at a later date and spray our house. He returned on schedule and took care of the problem. We felt he was knowledgable and honest. He gave us a discounted price when I mentioned finding him on Angie's List even though I was not aware of his Angie's List coupon. How often does that happen?
We are very pleased with the results. No bees!
If we have another problem in the future we will definitely use The Bee Man again!
