I've got four pets, so it's probably every month or every other month that I'm in there. I don't recall the price. They go out of their way to explain in layman's terms medical happenings. So, they're just real good at explaining things.

She's further away and I worried about any emergency because my dog was older and my cat was very sick. I don't want to have to drive an hour and a half through traffic. She's very good. Our neighbor is a vet tech for her and they're pretty good. The cost is not as much as the other veterinarian. The price isn't really too bad. They also have emergency service like at night. The price is not a problem. She's in a very populated area and it's heavy traffic. It would be hard to get through there if you have an emergency. The quality is fine. She's very good. I might use her again if I have a younger animal.

I was so impressed by Dr. Mary and her staff and their facilities. They obviously really love animals. Dr. Mary spent quite a bit of time teaching me things about puppy ownership and answering all of my questions. She was friendly, thorough and I didnt ever feel rushed. We didnt have anything major done, but for a general check-up, I was thoroughly pleased. I went to Pine Village Pets because of references from friends, and I'm glad I did!

My wife and I took our pug here to have his ears examined. His ears had some bumps around the edges. Dr. Schwacha determined it was an allergic reaction. She prescribed antibiotics for him to help with the edges of his ears. She also advised us to make a solution of warm water mixed with some iodine and to use a toothbrush to gently brush over his ears to help with the allergic reaction. It has been successful. The cost of the service was reasonable and it includes the exam and the medication. We have been going here since the summer of 2012 and have been pleased with the care she has provided.

.I took our kitten to the Vet, knowing that he was very sick and that I was about to be away for 3 weeks. Dr. Schwacha examined him and immediately realized that his breathing was very compromised - he was quickly installed in the oxygen tent. She diagnosed the lung worm, which she had not seen in 25 years, and researched what kind of care he would need. I was more that a little bit upset because of how seriously ill he was and the fact that I would be away and not able to care for him or see him. This facility does not and quot;boardand quot; animals except for the usual overnights after operations, but Dr. Schwacha decided that the best coarse of action for my kitten would be for him to stay at the and quot;officeand quot; so that he could be cared for and medicated as needed. He was there 18 days while I was away and I was in email contact with Dr. Schwacha who filled me in on his progress. It was very exciting when she reported that he had started to and quot;playand quot; instead of just sitting in his cage. He was able to come home about when I did and has thrived ever since.
This was extraordinary care and caring !

We forgot what true vets are like. She was so personable and treated us like concerned parents of our dog. We were not just another number (ching ching). Her establishment is a cute house. It is very homey inside and out. First thing we noticed inside was how clean and nice it smelled. It was very clean throughout the house. Exam rooms were kept neat and clean as well as the reception area and children area. It appeared she really enjoyed meeting our dog. We were not rushed and we enjoyed talking with her. Most of all, our dog's tail was wagging the whole time. That was a good tell tell sign (no pun intended). She examined our dog very thoroughly and the tech clipped his nails without our request. Our dog appeared very comfortable around the Doctor and the Tech. Maybe by clipping his nails it was their way of getting to know the dog as well. We were treated great. We forgot what it was like being treated in such a professional and comforting manor. We made an appointment to have his teeth cleaned and one tooth extracted. Estimated cost is $370.00. She even stated that she does not have top of the line exam equipment but just meeting her was enough trust we felt with her. Sometimes a Doctor can have top of the line equipment with all the bells and whistles but if their heart is not in it and all that the doctor can think about is how long they can recoup their investment by cost gouging, we'll go to Dr. Schwacha any day

I was referred to Pine Village Vet by a friend. I was tired of the big Vet practices where you never see the same doctor. I wanted someone who would actually see my dog everytime and actually know him. My first visit with my dog was for a routine check up and vaccinations. First of all the building is adorable, it's like a house not an office. Her husband does all the gardening which is beautiful. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. Dr. Mary is the kind of Vet that greets your animal first, down on their level. She was wonderful with my dog. Professional, very knowledgable and very kind. To top it all off her prices are so much more reasonable then my previous Vet. I have been back several times for sick visits and it's been a great experience every time. There has never been a problem getting an apt. and I've never had to wait long in the office. I have highly recommended her to several of my friends and they are now singing her praises as well. If you want a professional, knowledgable and very personable Vet for your animals, Dr. Mary Schwacha.

These were rescued kittens from a dumpster so age was hard to determine at first. Once I started feeding them they grew up really fast, in fact, too fast. The appt we originally had for this was still three weeks away when I caught them! I called PVV and although they were very booked they said they would make room. Just two days later (they do these procedures on Thursdays) my kittens are no longer as frisky. Well done Additional note, staff is very friendly!

Our college-age daughter adopted a shelter-dog, had already had him seen by her vet at school, and needed to have him neutered over the Christmas break. Our prior vet quoted her $400 and charged for for a pre-visit and blood work that was unnecessary. She was able to get an appointment with Pine Village, explain that she had a vet already at school, have the dog seen and neutered, and micro-chipped for just over $200. She said the service was excellent, the vet was very personable, We especially appreciated that the vet did not try to talk her into spending extra money on unneeded services. We plan to switch to this vet for our family cat! (We already recommended this vet to our neighbors who also recently adopted a dog).

It's a new veterinarian here in Wexford. I switched and moved to her late last year and I'm very pleased. She's very professional. I have 2 dogs and started going there because I'd heard good things about them. Earlier during this year one of my dogs had urinary tract infection and I took her there to have that treated. They are fine. I tried several things and it seemed to improve. Then things got bad again and I ended up having to have the dog put down. It turned out that she had cancer, etc. I love my dogs, but I was being realistic about it and she understood what I was saying. We tried what we thought was reasonable, but the dog was 12 or 13 years old too. I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on something that might extend her life to 6 months. That's my philosophy. I don't think that's a terrible philosophy. I can also understand that there are other people who would do whatever it takes. I don't. We tried different things. She was very compassionate. She understood where we were coming from and she also cut us a break on some of the fees. There were numerous times that we went back for a follow up office visit and she didn't even charge for the visit itself. Her fee was generally very reasonable in comparision. The thing that really struck me was that she felt very bad about having to put the dog down. She was a really nice dog. She actually sent me a hand written sympathy note a few days later. It was really nice because somebody really seemed to care. I would continue to use her in the future.
