Burroughs Flooring

I ended up texting Wally to see his availability and he was here 20 minutes later to take a look at the flooring and repair it. He was very friendly, did great work and explained what he was planning on doing to repair the floor before starting. Will definitely be calling him again for any hardwood issues that may arise in the future.

Wally did a great job installing hardwood floors. He was pleasant to work with and had competitive prices. He did the job for less and faster than he estimated. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was very pleased with Wallys performance on refinishing the floors.  The floor turned out beautiful and was happy with the schedule, price and quality. I would definitely use Wally again in the future.

Wally did a great job from start to finish - he was very honest with his estimate and explained the best options for us - not just the most expensive.   He showed up on time and the floor sanding work was done very nicely - since he does not claim his method to be "dustless" we were a little concerned we'd have dust everywhere but as he said - his equipment works well to control dust, he just doesn't advertise it as dustless - and the work was done with just a small amount of dust.   The floors look beautiful and we hae recommended him to others since our work was done.

We called Wally along with several other contractors and Home Depot. Wally came and measured and explained that our hardwood could be refinished but was very damaged due to tile being laid over it in spots and our roof leaked and staining occurred. We would have dark spots not only that, refinishing would require us to stay off the floor so it could cure, so we opted to install new. Wally arrived on time and got to work, he was pleasant and informative about what he was doing and why. He was here 3 days and the floor looks great. While he  was  doing the job my wife had him measure two other rooms and give us an estimate as soon as we get the material Wally is going to do that job If you would hire Wally I don't believe you will be disappointed

Very well,  arrived on time the first day. Sanded and buffed my dining room floor and put a coat of poly.
Next day he arrived on time and added another coat of poly. on it.
Gave me all the instructions needed to maintain my floor and he was out the door.
Wally was very knowledgeable on the process, very fast worked, clean and neat.
Also, has a great personality!
I am very pleased with the outcome of my floor.
I would recommend Wally to anyone who needs to get the job done and I  would use Burroughs services in the future.

Wally was great! We had just purchased the house and had tricky timing with the move. We wanted the floors done and dry prior to moving in. Wally made it work with our schedule and the floors look awesome. Plus, he was quite reasonable compared to other quotes we had received. We would definitely use him again.

Wally is the best. We thought our hardwood floors were beyond repair, but they now look like new. Price was competitive, time estimates were right on, and Wally was a lot of fun to work with.

Work had to be coordinated with our kitchen contractor and Wally was very helpful and worked on our schedule.  He made some recommenations about what we should and should not do with the floors.  His recommendations were a bit different from what we had thought but since he has more experience we decided to follow is advice and we are glad we did.   The floors look fantastic.    He was on time, did all work in a professional manner and gave us a fantastic product.    We would definitely recommend that anyone needing hardwood floor refinishing call him first.

My wife and I had 5 different estimates for redoing our rental home in
Regent Square.  Although this is a rental home now....it is our
home....and a place we would love to move back to.  So we wanted to do
it right and it was important that we pick the right person.  After
seeing 5 different people......my wife and I knew Wally was the right
guy.  We heard from a relative that he did good work, but when he came
over....he had a can do attitude and explained exactly what he would do,
how long it would take and the cost.  He didn't waiver or short change
on any of it.  We spent a day ripping up carpet and did exactly what
Wally said to do in order to save some money.  Then we got out of the
way and let Wally do his work. 
When I left the house for Wally to work.....I saw some hardwood floors with old radiator holes, pits and
damage in the wood and a dark and ugly stain.  When I cam back...I
couldn't believe the work.  The house looked completely different.  The
places where the radiator holes were...were no longer.  You couldn't
even tell.  They looked absolutely beautiful.
My wife was back in Virginia and did not see the finished product....I did not have a smart
phone (like my wife to send pics), but Wally did and sent her a bunch
of pictures.  When Megan saw the pictures she was so happy that she
cried that we couldn't move back in and enjoy the beautiful floors.
Wally made that house a home.  The new renters saw the finished product a day
later.....and were completely impressed and pleased. 
I will only have Wally do my floor needs in the future in Pittsburgh.  You can

Wally really knows his stuff.  From start to finish, he was nothing but honest and up front about pricing, expected results, progress of the work, etc.  He came and gave me an estimate, and seemed very knowledgable about refinishing wood floors.  We decided to go with him because of the 3 or 4 well-reviewed Angie'sLIst members who gave me an estimate, Wally's price was by far the most reasonable.  He works by himself, and finished the whole job in less than a week!  This included stripping carpet and tackstrip from 3 full rooms and a hallway, sanding the pine floors underneith (which were also painted, so he had to get the paint off too), and then completely refinishing all these areas.  They look incredible.  He even went out of his way to fix divots/small missing pieces of wood to make it look fantastic.  The house was built in 1900, so we were a bit skeptical of how the floors would turn out, but they look terrific.  Wally even went out of his way to refinish the top of a built in storage unit that the previous owners had allowed to get very scratched and dinged up; this we very much appreciated.  We also hired Wally to buff and polyeurethane our whole first floor and bedroom, which were already finished.  He was nothing but upfront and honest about the fact that he did not feel that he could do this to our satisfaction.  He'd found a layer of wax that was not allowing the poly. to properly adhere to our wood floors.  Instead of taking our money and knowingly doing a poor job on this and hoping we didn't notice for months down the road, he told us that if he did what we wanted him to do, we would not be happy with the results.  A very honest, professional and genuine businessman.  We would recommend Wally Borroughs Flooring to anybody in a heartbeat.

Wally came when he said he would.  Began work promptly and I did not reenter the house until he was done a few days later.  The floors went from a dark stain to natural, adding more light to the rooms.  Everything was well done.  He cleaned after he finished; so I could have movers come as soon as the floor was ready. Wally Burroughs (owner and operator) originally arrived approx. a year before we had the work done. He took a look at our floors and didn't exaggerate the outcome that he expected - the floors were in bad shape. Compared to the two or three other estimates we had, he seemed more realistic about the outcome, and his price was fair. A year later he showed up. We planned to be out of town so that there would be no interruptions. He seemed trustworthy enough to have him at our place with us not there. We had no problems whatsoever with anything suspicious. Anyway, the end result was fantastic, and surprisingly so; he even seemed surprised at how well a few rooms actually turned out. We're altogether very happy, and happy the job is finished.

I contacted Burrough's Flooring and others from Angie's List. Mr. Burroughs was generally prompt in returning my calls and answered my questions thoroughly and assuredly. We were able to arrange a date for the project six weeks ahead of time to ensure it could be completed while we were out of town. After a confirmation call from me a week before our agreed date, Mr. Burroughs arrived on time, actually completed the work ahead of time, and did so to our primary satisfaction. Our only minor complaint would be that a few nail holes left over from carpet tack were left unfilled, which I didn't notice until after the project completion. This detail would not prevent me from recommending Burrough's Flooring.

Came, evaluated and estimated cost in short time frame and planned to do work two weeks later. Gave good advice on what needed to be done and called to consult on stairs. Had opening and came early, did the work in a timely manner. Floors look good. We are very pleased.

He was on time and did an excellent job. After he left, I had to leave to run some errands. My dog got through the chairs I set up and walked all over the wet finish. I came home to a floor of dog prints. I called Wally and he came out right away, sanded the floor and refinished it again for free.

WALLY GAVE US A VERY COMPETITIVE BID, LEFT THE HOUSE WITH VERY LITTLE DUST, AND COMPLETED THE JOB EXACTLY WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. WE'VE USED OTHER REFINISHERS BEFORE WHO'VE LEFT QUITE A MESS, SO WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH HIS WORK.
