Brian and Sandy were both so nice and professional. Brian arrived early for the appointment. Explained everything I needed to know and went right to work. He finished sooner than expected. Even though he was drilling in brick and cement, you would never know it as he cleaned up any mess that was made during the installation. Very pleased!!!

Prior to installation, Brian inspected the property, explained the procedure and the pros and cons of installing the suction point at different locations in the basement. [In contrast, a large-volume radon remediation company in PA refused to visit the property prior to installation - the just gave me a price and said that details of installation would be discussed when the crew got to my house.] The fact that Airtech is registered with BBB while the large company is not was the deciding factor in my choice to go with Airtech. Also they are a local company. The day of the install went as expected - no surprises. Brian was very professional and answered all of my questions/concerns. The install took about 3 hours. He left two measuring devices in the basement. I had an independent electronic monitor. After about a week, all devices provided similar readings. The work brought the radon level down from about 22-27 pCi/mL to about 3 pCi/mL, which solved my radon problem. I would highly recommend Airtech for radon remediation services.

Brian came on time and discussed the options we had for placing the system. He was receptive to questions and suggestions. The work was done as cleanly as one can expect. We have full confidence that the level will drop. Not the cheapest option, but with this kind of work we didn't want to take a chance on the lowest bidder.

Very punctual and professional. Will not talk you into work you do not need. Works collaboratively. Very knowledgeable and trustworthy. If I need remediation in the spring I will definitely go with Brian.
Description of Work: Scheduling was easy and fast. Brian arrived right on time. My radon levels were only 12 pC/l. We went through all options. Brain was not rushed and vert receptive to me needs. He came up with really creative solutions. He spend about an hour with me at teh house but then we decided that because levels were so low and the solution I preferred a bit more elaborate to wait and see how levels develop once the house is occupied. He gave me nay tips and insights. He could have easily talked me into the work but he did not. He basically spend one hour to advice me without charging me.

Prior to moving-in to this house, I conducted my own radon measurement test as I noticed several other houses in the sub-division seemed to have these radon depletion units. My memory is that I called AirTech after seeing them highly rated on Angie's List + the fact their location is relatively close to where my house. I asked them about a test & was told there was a several week wait to have it done + there was a fee of, say, $150 (I'm foggy on this detail). Given that I was going to only be there one week in July to get other work estimates (as well as the cost), I decided to use a do-it-yourself test kit that I got at Lowes. All I had to do was set it up in the house & let it sit a few days; that seemed easy enough, even for me, then mail it back to the lab in a pre-addressed envelope. The results came back as a 4.0, which was higher than recommended, so I re-called AirTech & arranged a site inspection on my move-in day. The technician arrived right at 8:00am & determined that the best installation for my situation would be a shallow hole in the garage floor (the house has no basement), running a pipe up into the attic then out the roof. This way, the pump is housed inside rather than on the outside of the house, as I see a lot of other such units in my neighborhood. Since my next-door neighbor has a radon system, I believed the test result & didn't seek a 2nd opinion. The cost of the radon unit would be $995. I called the office & set-up an installation date. At the appointed time, the technician arrived & installed the equipment in under two hours. He took away any debris created by the drilling in the garage floor & cutting a hole in both the garage ceiling & roof. He installed a meter on the pipe in the garage & explained what I should look for. He also installed an ON/OFF switch for the pump motor in the attic & told me never to turn it off, as the switch is either a State or County (I don't quite recall) requirement. Lastly, he left a testing unit in my house to measure the radon level over the course of a few days. Once again, he was on-time to collect the sample box & told me that I'd have the results that same afternoon. And true to his word - I did. The level is now well down into the acceptable range. So, one less thing to need to be concerned about.

After much patience from AirTech and my ever changing schedule, I was able to schedule for Brian to come out, assess my situation and hopefully install an evacuation system. My basement is 90% finished with only the laundry room being somewhere I would want the radon evacuation system. Brian arrived at the scheduled time and evaluated the best placement for my vacuum given the small size of the unfinished portion of my basement and all the plumbing pipes taking up space. He was able to make it work with minimal interruption to the flow of the room. I left him to it, but i m sure it wasn't easy squeezing into the tight spaces. He was done a little less than two hours later, with an inconspicuous as it can be evacuation system. He explained the functioning and then took me outside to show me everything. He even addressed some of the landscaping grading issues left by the previous owner. Make sure that stuff is graded away from your foundation. He also gave me some free advice on gutter guards, which sounds small but is a huge deal for someone that doesn't have many others to rely on for that type of advice. Minus the new pipe and fun blue colored liquid letting me know the system is working, you can't even tell Brian was there. I would highly recommend AirTech to anyone needing to address a radon issue.

Sandy with scheduling was great, especially considering I had to move the appointment a couple of times. Brian did an excellent job with the installation. He was done in about two hours, everything was clean and professionally done. Also, I needed a hole in the foundation made for a dryer vent. Brian took an extra 20 minutes and made the hole for me, which was not that easy. Overall, I would highly recommend using Airtech.

Airtech was great! We had to go back and forth between them and the home builder because the builder put the vent in the attic in the wrong place but at first denied it and then didn't want to fix it. We finally got the builder to fix it and Airtech was finally able to come out and install the fan and never charged us for the other failed install visits. Super fast job, very friendly and they cleaned up when they were done. Highly recommend!

Brian was on time. Did a real nice job and fully explained the system to us as well as the guarantee. I did my own recheck and it came out higher than recommended and they came out for a 2nd recheck and all was good (mirrored my 2nd recheck as well). They obviously stand by their work and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat!

I tested my home for radon myself and the readings were around 94 pCi/L. This company came out and hooked up the fan to the pre-piping that was already in the house, and left tests. They came back on time to pick up the tests. The tests displayed that the radon was still high (about 20 pCi/L), and I paid to have another pipe installed using the same fan. Once I did this, I was told that I was now covered under their warranty and any future work would be free. They again left radon tests. The radon was still high, about 17 pCi/L. They came out and installed another pipe for free. The left tests again. This time the radon fell to the high end of the EPA acceptable level of 0.4 pCi/L. Nonetheless, they provided me with a free long-term radon test to ensure that the radon was properly mitigated. Long story short: if you want a fantastic radon removal experience and want the confidence that the radon is being removed, hire this company.

We purchased the home in April of 2010. At that time, the home failed the radon test levels and Airtech was hired to put in the mitigation system. They arrived on time, did a great job and their price was very fair. At the time of installation, I did not want to put in a full high exhaust stack for asthetics and asked the installer to put a shorter stack on the house. Since the house was bought, the building code has changed, requiring full high stacks on the exhaust stack. The buyers had a home inspection and found this issue and asked us to have a licensed provider fix it. We called Airtech, they came out within a few days and extended the exhaust stack at NO COST. Every aspect of dealing with this company has been exemplary. I highly recommend if you need Radon services. Kevin Stokes
Description of Work: Airtech originally installed our radon mitigation system at the time of purchase of the home, approximately 5 years ago. Recently we needed to change the installation because of request from a buyer (we are selling the home). Airtech came out and did the changes at no cost.

Sandy was very helpful on the phone and set up the appointment and kept me informed with a reminder the day before. Brian showed up on time and helped me to decide where we wanted the system installed. He was very thorough and helpful in describing what it would look like and making suggestions where the best places would be for installation. The installation took only about 1.5 hours and everything looks great. There was no mess where they drilled the holes and the system is well placed inside and outside the home. They came back and picked up the test results and our Radon level is down to .8 so we are very pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: I just moved into a new home with a 6.0 Radon reading and needed to get a mitigation system installed.
