RJL did a great job - they showed up on time and got the job done, it's been almost 2 years now and it still looks great, no cracks.

I was very satisfied with the work. They came over and did the repairs in a timely fashion. It only took them 3 days to do the repairs. In fact, I didn't expect them to show up one day, but they came so that was nice. The pricing is great too. They gave me a $100 dollar discount because I paid with cash. I will definitely contact them next time for my concrete needs.

I had a few concrete steps that I wanted to have repaired before an upcoming home appraisal. (Also, I was growing increasingly worried that I or my mail carrier were going to twist an ankle.) Because the job was a repair, I had a difficult time finding a company willing to come and give me an estimate. After many calls and either outright rejections or no callbacks, Ken from RJL called me and said he could come out the next day to give me an estimate. He was prompt and his estimate was fair, so I told him to go ahead and put the job on his schedule. He asked me when my appraisal was and worked to finish the repair job before that date. The work was only completed today, but it looks great (way better than the patches the previous homeowner used) and he paid great attention to detail in his work. He was efficient, respectful of my time, and genuinely concerned about the quality of the work he was doing.
I've already recommended this company to a friend, and received some casual estimates from Ken on other concrete projects I need to complete around the outside of my house. They'll be the first ones I call when I have the money for them :)

Day one of the project was spectacular. Our family was so excited about this project that we took lots of photographs so we could remember what the 'old' driveway, wall, stairs, and sidewalk looked like.
We did encounter a major problem, however with day two of the excavation. We encountered water in the basement and garage after day two's dig. We immediately phoned Dino and he suggested that we contact a licensed plumber to assess the situation. Later that night (10:30 p.m.) we had a plumber dig 3-5 more feet into the driveway to install a temporary pipe to replace the broken, clogged pipe. Day three was a plumbing day also due to unforseen plumbing issues incurred from day two's dig (and a day missed from our jobs.) On days four and five of the project, plumbing was completed and inspected (another day's work missed.) We did not anticipate an additional $10,000 in plumbing fees. Days 6+ were completely dedicated to the RJL company's expertise in concrete and stone work. Upon completion of the project, the driveway, stairs, sidewalk, and retaining wall are absolutely beautiful, as noted by the us, our neighbors and community members who travel past our property on a daily basis.

Excellent from start to finish - the estimate arrived promptly and the price was great. We scheduled the work, the crew showed up on time - they excavated and prepped the first day, poured the concrete the second day, cleaned everything up and went home. Very professional and the work is excellent, no cracks,

Ray was very punctual in arriving and providing estimates - arrived ahead of the appointed time and provided estimates within a week for the many neighbors who were interested in concrete work. Also Ray brought along several photo albums showing the work of many completed jobs.
Ray's crew performed excellent work. All people who had work done are VERY pleased with the quality and professional completion of the jobs.
As a side note, most steps in this neighborhood have what are called cheek walls - curved sidewalls along steps. Some competing contractors were reticent about including these cheek walls in replacement work due to the extra work and care that it takes to put them in. Ray and his crew did not blink at this and assumed that 'of course' these would be put in. All were constructed very professionally.

I was very pleased. They could not have been nicer. They went out there way to accommodate me. I dealt mostly with Ken. He even went to the store with me to make my purchase. He was very helpful, which I greatly appreciate. They arrived on time and finished in a timely manner. They were courteous. They used my garage and left it in perfect condition.

It has been a blessing through Angie's List Wishmakers to have met the generous employees of RJL Enterprises, Inc.. Raymond Leonard, the owner/president, along with his crew are the most caring, appreciative, and hard working men we have met. Ray was so happy to fulfill our need by voluntarily laying new concrete front steps to ensure our daughter's safety. The crew's efficiency and expertise are remarkable! The finished project displays their artistic talent and workmanship. We would highly recommend RJL Enterprises Inc. for any concrete construction project!

The work done was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the concrete and the work that he did. I just want to tell people that to be prepared for is; his appearance is not that great and when you say something on phone, it’s difficult to understand him on phone. Don’t let these two things judge him. He is very good at what he does. I would use them in the future.

Overall expierence was excellent. The workers were professional and the owner worked with us so we could get the sewer and water lines replaced before the new driveway was poured. Top notch concrete work and we would recommend this company.

Ray (the owner) was very professional to work with. He always returned any messages we left him promptly and tried to explain all the work that would be done. He was very patient with our questions. There is a concrete room under our front porch so the men first set up safety scaffolding in the room. They then jack hammered the old concrete porch off. In the process, some of the stone around our front door let loose. This was in no way Ray's fault (it was not installed properly when the house was built) but Ray completely repaired the damaged area at no additional cost to us. The crew poured a new concrete slab porch. They cleaned up at the end of each day to the point where you would hardly know they were there during the day. All of Ray's men were extremely polite and considerate. They arrived early and put in a full day every day. We were EXTREMELY pleased with the end result. The porch is beautiful (we have gotten MANY compliments on it) and exactly what we wanted. We were so impressed with Ray's business ethic. He didn't add on fees or charges, even when the job demanded more of his time than originally expected. The fact that he went above and beyond by fixing the stone that fell really speaks volumes about the way Ray runs his company. He even had his men replace the metal hinges on our storm door because they weren't holding the door on straight. He is truly an honest business man who performs quality work and isn't out to rip people off. We would recommend this company to ANYONE!

RJL listened to our requests to improve the safety and the look of the old, decaying patio and sidewalk, and came up with a design that is both a vast improvement over the functionality of the old but beautiful as well. RJL and his team worked 3 days in a row, arriving on the day they said they would, and completed the project in an amazingly short time and at a very reasonable price. RJL and his team left the work site clean and neat after each day. They even landscaped around the area, which we were not expecting, filling in the new, higher elevations where needed to make a smooth transition from the sidewalk to the lawn. We are all quite thrilled with the results and will definitely recommend RJL Enterprises to others.

Ray was very responsive and was able to go over the job very soon after I first called him. He had very good ideas on how to do the front porch and how to handle drainage, etc. After some negotiations, we were able to agree on a price for the job. Ray and his crew started later that week. They worked very hard and did excellent work. Ray and his crew take pride in their work, as they should!

Outstanding! Ray's crew is very courteous and professional. They worked very quickly in extreme heat and put a nice finish on the concrete. They have my highest recommendation.

The owner and his crew were very professional and thorough. The job they did exceeded our expectations. They were there when they said they would be. Each one of the crew had a specific job and they worked smoothly together. When the owner came to give us an estimate, he was the only one who brought pictures of previous jobs that he's done and that's what sold us (in addition to his excellent price).

Mr. Leonard is a quality business owner and concrete craftsmen. From the first visit, the bid, the tearing out of the old concrete, the pouring and finishing of the new concrete, to clean up this job was done perfectly. His time frame was accurate. The quality of the work was exceptional. The location of this installation was not easy, but his crew handled it with absolutely no problems. The cleanup was amazing, including top soil and grass seed to complete the edges of the job. I don't impress easily, but I can't emphasize enough that this is a top notch outfit. Thank you for the great reference and job well done.

Our concrete patio and the concrete stairs in the alleyway next to our house were in serious disrepair. Not knowing how much it was going to cost, I decided to have the two jobs quoted separately. Our house is built on a hill, so naturally, I thought these jobs were going to cost quite a bit. I contacted Ray and he scheduled a time to come look at the job within a few days. Ray showed up on time, took some measurements, and mailed me two separate quotes. One quote was to have our back patio dug up and poured, two new drains installed in our back patio, and 4 steps repaired in our alleyway. The second quote was to have our alleyway and steps dug up and poured. As separate jobs, the quotes totaled over $6000, but with both jobs done at the same time it brought the cost down to $4800. I contacted Ray a few days later and indicated I would like him to perform the work. Ray said that he had a few weeks of scheduled work to do, and that he would contact me within a couple weeks to schedule. Ray contacted me two weeks later, indicating that he could start on Wed, Oct 21st. Ray showed up early on Wed morning with a crew of 6-7 workers. I paid him half of the total cost of the job up front and by the end of the first day they had dug up all of the concrete, layed down all of the framework, and leveled the underlying dirt with stone. Ray and his crew showed up early again on Thursday morning, and finished the job by the end of the day. I came home from work to a beautiful new patio and walkway. Ray installed the drain pipes so that there is no standing water on our back patio, which was a major concern. He also coated all of the new concrete with a sealant. His crew was polite, hard working, and they got the job finished sooner than I had expected. The job looks very professional, and I will be hiring Ray to do any additional concrete work that I may need done in the future.

We called RJL Enterprises for an estimate on concrete work we needed done; Ray, the owner of the company, returned our phone call promptly and scheduled an appointment to come out and discuss the job. He showed up on time. He brought photos of other jobs his company had done so we could see examples of their work. He suggested several ways to do the job; in the end, we decided not to patch but to replace. His final estimate was excellent. Ray and the crew showed up early on the scheduled day and got right to work. They were friendly and polite and the guys always cleaned up after each day's work. They were considerate of our neighbor's property as well. All of the concrete work was performed on schedule (demo, building the forms, pouring, finishing, etc.) over a period of three days. They used very sturdy wood to build the forms so that the poured concrete didn't bulge. The day after all the concrete work was complete, two of the guys returned to repair the porch and add a few finishing touches. We are very impressed and so are our neighbors. We were so pleased with the beautiful finished product we gave them a bit of a bonus in the final payment on the job. We had a very positive experience with this company!

It went very well but I'll know better when the new steps that I had put in go through a winter. I was very pleased with the promptness and the price. Their quote was almost half of what the other companies gave me and it seems like they did a great job. They were here within a week and they came one day to knock it all out then they poured everything the next day. At the present time, I am extremely pleased.

I had a bad experience with another contractor & immediately joined Angie's List where I found RJL Enterprises to have excellent reviews. I called & Ray got back to me right away & set a time to look over the job. Was prompt & brought extensive photos of previous projects. I received the estimate the next day & got on his schedule, 3 weeks out. Exactly as he figured, 3 weeks later he started. Day one, he & his crew demo'd the old steps & top concrete landing that pooled water (the other contractor) & formed the new steps. Day two, concrete was placed & finished. He salvaged the old handrail & set it. The new landing is the proper width & is finished beautifully. How they were able to place this landing so that the existing wood porch step stringers would set on it without removing the wood steps is amazing! Day three (actually only a couple of hours) Ray & his crew removed some braces & added top soil to the disturbed area. I am extremely pleased with his professionalism & craftsmanship!

Old drive heaved in winter, blocking our primary access. Water leaked under old drive, entering basement. RJL removed old drive, laid out and poured new drive, with drain to carry water into yard. Three days work

After I called for an estimate Ray came out within a week of my call and I received the estimate within two days following his visit. I called him a couple of weeks after receiving the estimate and asked several questions about the work, which he answered satisfactorily. Due to weather he wasn't able to come do the work for a couple of weeks. He called me the Friday before and told me he could start the work on Monday. The job took three days total and everything looks great. His price was the lowest by far of the estimates I received, however he was incredibly hard to understand, especially when on the telephone. Even with the low price, I considered not using him because of this. However, I re-read the reviews on Angie's list and because they were all good reports I chose him anyway. I am glad I did. He will be back next week to remove the forms and fill with topsoil and grass seed.
