About us

Kostovny Electric was founded in 1981 by Thomas L. Kostovny Sr. Starting with just four employees, Kostovny Electric grew into a seven-hundred and fifty thousand dollar a year electrical construction business, and reached its peak with thirty-six employees in 1989. In 2012, Kostovny Electric was restructured into Kostovny Electric LLC as Daniel J. Kostovny, succeeded his father as owner. Keeping the same location, employees, trucks, and customers, Dan and Tom worked together to make the transition quickly and without interruption in service to their customers. Kostovny Electric is actively involved in the Pennsylvania state and federally approved company apprenticeship program, with two apprentices currently in training. We have had eight apprentices complete the program to become electricians.

We needed a meter box replacement. A complete review of our electrical needs was done. When others tried to tell us our breakers would HAVE to be replaced now, Kostovny electric have an honest estimate of their condition. We had our repair done quickly and all communication with the power company was handled by them. Everything passed the inspection with flying colors, including the "must replace" breaker box. When the time comes we will have no problem callling Kostovny Electric for our breaker box upgrade.

Dan and his team made what we thought would be a nightmare of a project into a quick and painless procedure. We needed a new service line ran from out meter to our house as well as a new breaker box installed and then new feed lines ran to eliminate some old knob and tube wiring. Kostovny was able to get us scheduled in a timely manner, showed up on time, were upfront with us about any questions or findings they had and left the place as if they weren't even there. Their quality of work was top notch and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to call them back for future work.

The electrical box was changed on Jan. 9th 2013.  That was fine, but trying to get the grounding put in took approx 1.5 YEARS!  Multiple caIls to come out and get the work done only produced frustration on my part.  My mistake was paying for the entire project when the box was put in.  While I do not remember the last day that they finally finished the project (I am guessing on the May 15 date) I know that working with this company was NOT worth the frustration. The quality of work was minimal also.
