Dan is a professional who has been taking care of our lawn and property at our current house and last house for over 15 years. He does an amazing job at keeping our lawn healthy and thriving and his leaf removal is also excellent. He's been a great resource for other service providers as well and we trust him implicitly with his recommendations. I can't say enough good things about Dan and the services he provides. Amount below is for a years worth of lawn treatment and some lawn care only.

I would not recommend DNK Lawn Care due to poor communication. DNK told me a lot things and then didn't follow through &/or changed their recommendations.
1. Told me they liked seeding into crabgrass and then later said it was a bad idea.
2. Told me it was going to be a bad year for Japanese beetles and recommended treating for them. Then told me it was not needed.
3. Told me I needed to cut the grass really short before seeding in the fall.
4. I told them i needed notice before they did the fall renovation so I could mow the yard short.
5. They gave me less that 24 hours notice, even though I told them I needed more than that .
6. They seeded into ~3" tall grass.
7. They still recommend staying off the yard for 2 weeks before mowing again.
8. Now my yard will be more than 6" tall before I can mow again.
9. I don't know if it's worse to mow before the seeds have a chance to germinate or to let the yard get out of control.

"Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our communication. I have been in business for over 10 years and in the industry for almost 20 years. I tailor my plan specific to your yard and your soil test results. I decided not to apply a grub control to prevent any beetle damage because your lawn was mostly weeds. This would have been a waste of your money this year, money that was better spent on new seed and soil amendments. Regarding the notice before I renovated, I understand it was not sufficient. That is why I mowed your acre property for you for free. Your lawn was most in need of repair this year, so I wanted you to be the first one I did to give the new seed the most amount of time to grow. I recently noticed how much seed germinated and hope you are happy with the results so far. Again, I am sorry for any miscommunication."

Dan and his wife are fantastic! We recently moved to the area and were looking for landscaping and lawn services. Dan came out for an estimate the same day I called. He is very knowledgable and professional! I would highly reccommend!

Dan provided lawn care for us for the whole summer of 2012. We started with a weedy, spotty lawn and thistle infested beds and ends up with the loveliest lawn in the neighborhood. We can't believe we ever tried to care for it ourselves.

He didn’t work with a contract .He came and did the lawn. He gave me a price. He was very personable. He listened and did a good job. My lawn looks beautiful. We had one little problem and that was not his fault. We had a lot of stone in the lawn and we got that removed. He put the rest of the sod after removing it. The quality was good. He was responsive when I called him and he showed up when he was supposed to. He was fair in the pricing. It was not his fault that we had to spend extra money for stones. Basically in the beginning when I was quoted the job he was reasonable with the price. I would recommend him. I would give him excellent grades as he did a very nice job in my lawn and if something didn’t go right he will be back to fix it. I was very happy to work with him.

We were so impressed with Dan. We waited too long to mulch our many, many flower beds and were up against a tight deadline of about five days. Dan went above and beyond and moved the rest of his work around to fit us in, finishing up right before guests to our party arrived. He was there when he said he would be, it cost what he said it would cost, and he suggested changes to keep our overall costs down. We have already asked to be put on his regular schedule for next year so we don't get in this bind again!

I like Dan, he comes on the day he says he will, he leaves the yard neat and well cared for and charges a reasonable price. He is proactive about dropping from every week to every other week as needed in the hot, dry summer. We don't fertilize, but for basic lawn care he has been terrific.

He insisted on cutting lawn on a schedule instead of need. Cut was good. I discontinued after 2 seasons.

"I am sorry, but I am going to have to disagree with this comment. We discontinued providing service to this customer after 3 seasons because of the lack of on-time payments. Throughout our time of servicing his lawn, we never received any communication about our service or changes that he wanted. We are disappointed to hear that he feels like this, especially because that is something that we pride ourselves in. We are not just a typical mow-n-go service, but rather we try to build a healthy lawn by cutting only when it needs it and cutting at a higher length to establish a good root system."

Dan is very professional and does an excellent job of both mowing, edging & clean-up. And I'm impressed that this is his true area of expertise, with an edication in turf management. I like that he is a one-man operation in that as an "owner-operator" he has control over the quality of the service. I've found that there is not always consistency in the quality of care in an area where there may be high turnover and low skill for workers.

DNK comes out every two weeks to mow my lawn. I have a monthly fee that I pay for their service. I have been very pleased with their service. They do not try to sell me any extra services or charge me for things which I do not need. They are very friendly and reliable.

Very well so far. Contacted Dan in March. He came to the house to look at the lawn and provide an estimate for services for the summer season. He provided this portion of the service in early April. I got an advance email notification that he was coming on the day of the treatment and he left flags to indicate that he was at my home and to provide notification to stay off of the lawn for 48 hours. Lawn looks green and great. Spot treatment for weeds appears to have worked fairly well and especially on the wild onions in the lawn. I am hoping that the lawn looks this good all summer.

DNK was a great service to have this year. Dan was dedicated to getting our lawn cut and didn't miss a week. (He even came on the 4th of July when it rained the day before). Dan was fast, efficient and thoughtful - even sending me an email to point out some poison ivy he noticed in our yard before our two young daughters could wander into it.

Dan has cared for all of our lawn needs this summer. He is professional, a great communicator, and does a fine job. He came right away when we asked for an estimate, gave us a fair price, and has suggested other treatments/services that are on the way to making our lawn look 100% better. We are able to pay our bills through an on-line payment system and he always gives quotes before he goes ahead with any additional services. He communicates well either through telephone or e-mail. Dan's prices are fair and he hears concerns and acts on them without being defensive or curt. Dan also gives you the whole picture and a realistic time frame for how the improvements will affect your lawn. I wholly recommend Dan for your lawn needs.

I switched to DNK Lawn Care because he offers both lawn cutting and lawn maintenance services. He uses organic lawn care products. He has a degree in golf course management and worked as golf course superintendent before starting his residential home care business. He is very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional.
