Those Apple Guys

Jay Edwards was my contact person and worked on my machine.  He was very efficient in dealing with my machine's issues.  It was very convenient b/c when he works from home, the location is very close to my house.  (Going to either of the 2 Apple stores is a traffic nightmare and a hike!)  
When I left the machine, Jay explained to me what he would do and made sure that I understood how and why.  He removed the malware and blocked the SPAM site that had gotten into my email.  He also removed the vestiges of Mackeeper, which I had used for several years, but had tried to delete.  
He also gave me a close estimate of costs.  Even though I was not in a particular rush, I had the machine back in my hands within 6 hours.
Jay also suggested a malware program and a password program to facilitate the continued health of my machine.  Both were free.
My computer is working well, and I am very satisfied!

I recently upgraded from an old Mac Mini to a new iMac.  I was able to transfer all the files myself except iPhoto.
Contacted Jay. He responded that day and came right on time at a time that fit my schedule.  He accomplished that job in less that an hour and fixed some incidental issues caused by my recent upgrade to Yosemite. 
His fee was reasonable especially knowing that Jay saved me hours of wasted effort.
I would definitely use Jay's services again and recommend him to my friends.

'right on the button.'

He was late and I got a call about him being late. I did not realize there was going to be a travel charge to drive to my house. Their responsiveness and punctuality could have been better. I would look at other companies that are closer to me so I don't have to pay travel charges.

My Apple computer had lost speed and was putting up a lot of color wheels, suggesting some sort of strain or overload. I contacted one of the Apple Guys in Ambler, got a quick email and phone reply, and brought the computer in. Chip kept it for a couple of days then called to tell me that as he had suspected the hard drive was on its way out. He installed a large capacity drive while saving all my data.
I had the computer back within a week.

The drive itself was about a third of the price paid. Although the service itself was about $225, computer repair is generally an expensive proposition, as I had discovered in dealing with other providers--which is what led me to Those Apple Guys in the first place.

Jay is a very personable guy. He made no promises, and I didn't have to pay him until after he recovered my data. He also has a policy that if he attempts a recovery and fails, you don't pay for nothing. I recommend him highly.
