The work was very good. He was professional, punctual, knowledgeable and did high quality work above and beyond a normal piano tuner. He has an engineering background and has an increased knowledge of the inner-workings of a piano. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

I was completely thrilled with Richard Parker. He's not just a registered piano technician. He is FAR beyond those credentials, as he is an engineer. I think that's something like 9 more years of school. This guy knows pianos, but he also understands the dynamics of the tension on the instrument, humidification, action, etc. In fact, he brings out a diagnostic tool he invented himself that helps him detect any cracks in the soundboard (even if they're not yet visible or difficult to see) based on the algorithm of the sound waves he sees on the screen. He told me more about my piano than any tech I have had work on it in 20 years. I was blown away when I could visibly see every single thing he was discovering about my instrument. He explained sounds that other techs have dismissed as and quot;we don't really know why this is happening...and quot; He was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable.
I have a degree in piano performance and feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the mechanics of a piano. Today I was taken to school-- in a wonderful way. I'm grateful beyond words for the expertise I saw in Richard Parker. And his price was below other less qualified techs out there.
He was well-dressed with a button-down shirt, dress pants, and tie. He returned my call in just a few hours. He showed up exactly, precisely on time. He was so kind to explain everything he was doing and seeing/hearing, but did it in a way that I could understand (I'm no engineer!) and was extremely kind.
If you love your instrument and want it to last forever and sound excellent, then call Richard Parker. You will not be disappointed.

He is reliable. He provides good follow up. I asked hi to give me a call every six months to remind me to get my piano tuned. They are very good at that. It is a very organized business. The quality of his work is very good. His work is very personable. He is very likeable. I have been using him for 10 years now.
