Wood Stairs and Railings Installation and Replacement
Rich did a great job replacing the railing in my house. The work was very good. We discussed other projects in the house which he agreed to do the work. He replace the floor in the hallway and there were mistakes made in the work. We agreed to address it later after he did some of the other work we agreed to that he would do. He was paid in full for every job he did. He made multiple promises to return and do some other work. We had dates agreed upon that he would move forward and do additional work . The excuses started and then he never showed up. Did return calls or text messages on his status of returning. The floor was never redone after he was paid and I stated that I would pay him again to do right the second time around. The guy just never showed up again. Rich is a very nice guy and I did like working with him. It was just very disappointing that he stopped showing up and returning my messages. I would recommend him for replacing your stairs but buyer beware of his follow up

I cannot say enough good things about Rich and his work. I was coming off a disastrous experience with the previous contractor who left my stair railing project in shambles. Rich (R.D. Hopkins GC) presented his remedy with for the job with confidence and followed through with a completed job that was even better than I had hoped for. He is professional, friendly, extremely respectful of my home and surroundings, amazingly neat and tidy and above all delivered exactly what he promised. I would not hesitate to recommend Rich (and his lovely helper Steve) to work on your home project in any of his areas of expertise. I am a happy camper :D

Wood Stairs and Railings Installation and Replacement
Rich (of R. D. Hopkins GC) tore down and rebuilt our foyer staircase. The job took about 2 weeks and he just finished today. I couldn't wait to write a great review for him, because we're just so happy with the outcome. Rich was true to his word, his estimate and an absolute pleasure to work with. Always cracking a joke, but at the same time, explaining and guiding us through the whole remodel process. Any blemish or imperfection was taken care of and the mess around the house was minimal. If you need anything done professionally, cleanly and quickly, give him a call.

Rich was professional and courteous. He was able to replace custom spindles on our staircase that were no longer produced with a reasonable match. We feel fortunate to have found Rich otherwise might have had to replace every spindle. His work was fantastic and even accommodated our busy schedule by performing the work on a Sunday morning. We will defiantly use him again in the future.

Very disappointed with this particular contractor. He is very pushy, rude, was so much in the hurry to finish the project that he completely disregarded specific details I requested and when I addressed the issue he became very argumentative. He ended up not completing the project and even though he forfeited the remaining balance it?s definitely not enough to get it all done. And the main project was done very poorly- the railing is not lined up, one section of the stair rail is higher than the other, there are missed spots in paint and rails weren?t stained. Terrible experience!

"This is a completely false statement Larisa. I have pictures to prove what the project looked like before and after. I have been building custom stairs for over 20 years and I really take pride in my work. I always build a great relationship with all my clients. I get call backs from clients still from when I started this company. That is how I run my business. You changed your mind over and over on several things as the project was moving forward and that was OK with me, people can change their minds, but it became quite apparent with all the add-ons you wanted free work and couldn't be satisfied no matter what I did for you, even when I let you keep the remaining balance you still were not satisfied. I can not express how disappointing it is that I did not work out for you. I truly hope you had found someone that could. Take care Rich"

Rich is a very friendly guy who explained what he was going to do and gave me an estimate. He came to look at the job on Saturday and repaired the Newell post that was broken and completely off the stairs and on Monday morning he installed it and cleaned up entirely and also tightened the stair rail by installing a bracket. When I got home from work and inspected the job done by Rich I was completely satisfied and so was my wife and we will use Rich again if we need to. Highly recommend his services.

Rich was extremely knowledgeable about staircases. He adapted when we needed to add some additional work to the project. He is very professional and personable. I have never had a contractor who cleaned up everything at the end of the day like he wasn't even here. I wholeheartedly recommend him and I will contact him about any future projects.
