My wife noticed a growing stain on the kitchen ceiling (Pic 1). Cutting a hole through the soggy ceiling exposed the bottom of the bathroom sink drainage pipe from which water was dripping. The underside of the floor was also wet (Pic 2). Disconnecting the drain pipe, shutting off the water supply, even removing the sink unit (Pic 3), didn't expose the source of the problem. It appeared to be behind the wall and unrelated to the drainage system. Time to call in a pro. John Lathrop returned my call in about 2 hours and was on-site about an hour later. He removed the sink unit, cut a hole in the wall and found the source of the leak: A pin-hole caused by corrosion in the cold water feed elbow joint. He replace the elbow joint (Pic 4) - Problem solved.
