Couldn't have gone smoother. Workers had attic entrance contained and sealed off, wore their masks entire time, put down drop cloth to enter the home and cleaned up once completed. We were provided images of the attic completely cleaned and sanitized, and then images of new insulation added.

I had a PECO energy assessment in early January 2020. They made several recommendations including rim joist insulation in the basement, attic insulation, and kneewall insulation for our guest room. I reached out to several PECO recommended companies and ultimately chose Green Stone. Dutch seemed passionate and knowledgeable over the phone. His team, led by Erick, came to the house to complete their initial assessment and I felt confident that the job would be well done by a knowledgeable team. That feeling lasted until the end of day 1 of a 2 day install. Day #1 ended with the team packing up at 2pm, which gave the impression that they were nearly done. Instead, Day #2 5:30 pm and they were scrambling to finish the insulation work and do the air tightness test. After they finally gathered their things and left our home, I started to walk around to see the completed work. The french drain in the basement was clogged with bits of insulation. The windows around the house had been "sealed" with caulk. Which meant that there were globs of caulk, which I tried to tidy up if they were still wet and had to sand if not. There was also caulk and smudges on the walls and, somehow, caulk on the banister. Our garage, which had insulation blown into the ceiling, looked like everything was covered in a fine layer of dust, including my son's stroller and other baby things. It took me the better part of a week to clean what I could. I spoke to Erick about the worst of it, our octagonal windows. They were filled with foam, which had clearly expanded too much. Rather than cut it back so the frame would be flush with the window again, the team tried to fill the space with caulk. GSE suggested I hire a handyman to repair it and they would cover the bill. So not only do I have to do extra work to get the situation resolved, but the window is now leaking water. I am extremely disappointed.

Everyone was helpful, responsive, and professional. The installation team took care to protect floors and walls adjacent to the attic access door. The finished job is impressive. We used Angie's List several times this year and have been pleased to contract with A-rated companies.

Went great! The owner and his workers are fantastic and they do great quality work! We felt an immediate difference in the upstairs room temperatures inside our house after the job was completed. The baby room, office and guest bedrooms that were all previously that hot in the summer compared to the rest of the upstairs improved dramatically. The job was very well-done, they clean up well and are very professional and pleasant to work with. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Dutch!

I received Green Stone Energy’s name after having a very thorough and professional energy audit completed by PECO as part of their efficiency program. I met with Dutch from Green Stone and we walked through his suggestions and planned approach which seemed reasonable to me. As promised I received an estimate within a couple days of the visit to my home outlining the project and was what we discussed. When reviewing the estimate the credits that I would receive from PECO didn’t line up with my expectations based on the PECO program literature that I read (less than ½) so I asked Dutch if he could help me understand how he determined the credits he included in my project. We went back and forth for 3 weeks during which time I provided the information that I received from PECO on the credits and my home energy audit which also had some credit estimates included. I also called Peco and confirmed my understanding. Green Stone continuously promised me an answer and revised estimate and it did not come. After about a month of waiting I have given up waiting and can’t understand why this simple question was not answered. So while I can’t speak to the work they do, my advice would be to make sure you understand the credits they include in their estimate and that it agrees with PECO so as you can be sure to receive what you are entitled too I and would recommend that you consider getting a second estimate to validate or working with a company that is more responsive. After now losing a month to this process I will restart with a different company.

Good grades for: The Boss, "Dutch", and his Executive Assistant Kristin The crew of 3 men arrived on time, actually a little bit early, extremely polite and focused on the job they were here to do. Dutch the boss stopped by early a.m. to review with the crew what the goal was, reinforcing to his employees in a respectful manner that they knew what they were here to do. Drop clothes were laid to protect all work areas, heard constant good communication from the crew to each other making sure each was o.k. and each were on the same page as the job progressed. The job foreman Greg invited my husband Tim several times to see what had been done, explained in laymens language why it was done and how it would help. Upon completion we were presented with pictures and before and after efficiency %'s. Look forward to paying less to PECO as we have a vaulted ceiling, and I believe and hope our expenditure will pay off in the long run. Nice and knowledgeable a very good combination!

We had an initial call with Green Stone (GS) and agreed to get an estimate. We did the same with several other contractors. The GS representative "Dutch" came to our home and was very knowledgeable of the PECO results and provided a detailed list of energy saving measures we could possibly pursue. The list was broken down into three specific areas based on PECO's report. Each section had an individual price and we were told we could do any or all of them and provided with the benefits of each. The team showed up on time, were very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They explained what they were going to do before they did it and why they were doing it the way they were. They treated our home with respect and covered up and/or cleaned up before and after they were done for the day. The only surprises we received were pleasant. This included some attic work that did not need to be done as specified based on further inspection. The change in plan actually saved us some money from the original quote but the end result was the same. The guys finished on-time as promised and left all areas as clean or cleaner than before they arrived. "Dutch" also stopped by each day to ensure things were going well and to answer any additional questions we had. The majority of our work was attic work and pictures don't do the job justice. We are very happy with the work and results.

We were doing a follow-up to a PECO Energy Smart House Call Assessment Report. Their Energy Advisor provided us with several options and recommendations to improve our home's efficiency and make the most of our energy dollars. Green Stone was one of the contractors recommended for weatherization and potential installation improvements.

Initial request for pricing was done in a very timely manner by Butch. Took him ~30 minutes to do a thorough assessment (compared to other guys who took 1-2 hours to do the same). Estimate was reasonable and price-wise comparable. I did not feel like he was nickel-and-diming me. They were reasonable to accommodate within 2 weeks. Showed up on the agreed upon date and time to start. Very professional, covered floors with blankets, etc. My negative comment is that once they were done sealing the attic, I went up to check and they missed a number of spots. So, as a home owner, I would not trust them to do everything according to the highest standard without checking first. In the end, I was satisfied with their services but the fact that they did not do a thorough enough job to start with left a bad taste in my mouth.

We had PECO come out and do an energy audit and they had Green Stone Energy in their list of recommended contractors. We followed the PECO recommendations and discounts but also added other items. Crew arrived on time and were at our house for about 10 hours. They tried their best to keep areas as clean as possible and communicated well. After spraying insulation into the garage ceiling they attempted to get all the drywall back and spackle but as explained in the work proposal I will have to do significant work to smooth out the ceiling and get it looking back to how it started. They performed a blower test before and after the work and found that the insulation decreased the air flow by 16%. This has definitely translated to an improvement in the temperatures in our upstairs and we were able to significantly reduce the amount of time our heat was running over the passed few months. Unfortunately, the work we did below our kitchen floor does not seem to have been effective but the other benefits were well worth it. We would definitely recommend Green Stone Energy and use them again if we had more work to do.

They arrived in the time frame indicated and started work immediately. The work team was very courteous and cleaned up the area before leaving. It went very well. Dutch (the owner) arrived the day work began to make sure his workers understood every detail as we had discussed. His employees were well aware of his standards and followed thru accordingly. It was obvious they were trained very well. They were receptive to all of my questions and explained everything they were doing.
Description of Work
Air sealed and insulated up to R-49 (with blown in cellulose) our upper attic, and area above our laundry room in the lower attic, taking precautions to avoid blown in insulation getting into our soffits. Also air sealed our crawl space (joist bays and sill plate) and basement (all joist bays and sill plates). Installed and insulated new vent hoses from our 2nd floor bathrooms to existing roof vents. Insulated our attic access stairs to upper attic and air sealed our duct work in our basement using special foil tape and mastic where needed. Lastly, they repaired insulation and added rigid board to the outside wall of our master bedroom within attic above garage.

This is a dusty job, no way around that while drilling through wallboard. They did a great job isolating the work area with plastic sheeting, and covering the floor. Clean up was also very good. Very respectful and got the job done quickly, answered questions and showed me the process. Looking forward to a warmer room this winter.

Good. The young man came on time, introduced himself and explain what he was about to do. He put plastic on the front hallway, and than carried the items needed down to the basement. He put spray foam insulation on the opening with the outside wall in the unfinished basement and then put the batt insulation back. He cleaned up after the job was done. Hope to see difference in the den where the floor had been cold to the touch.

Andrew, Nick, and Erick from Green Stone Energy did a fantastic job on our attic work. Andrew and Nick showed up exactly at 8am (just as the appointment person had indicated). Immediately as I opened the door, Andrew introduced himself and Nick. Andrew explained to me exactly what they were going to do today (essentially explaining the specifics outlined on my proposal). Doing this reassured me that they knew exactly what they were going to do. In addition, Erick, who provided my initial inspection, showed up to the job site to ensure Andrew and Nick were going to perform the services properly and ensure they did not miss anything based upon his outline of the services! Andrew and Nick were very clean, laying tarp all over to ensure no mess was made. After they completed the services, they vacuumed the entire path through which they came in and even swept my sidewalk! The entire job took about three (3) hours which was extremely efficient. The job itself was very affordable ~$1600. Andrew and Nick conducted themselves with complete professionalism throughout the entire process. Thank you Andrew, Nick, Erick and Green Stone Energy!
Description of Work
Cover a couple of soffits using R-board, including the covering a large soffit where our stairs to the first floor are, they insulated any gaps that existed between the attic and the second floor, and finally they blew in an R value of ~38 into my attic (it was roughly around an R-value of 10 prior).

It went well, They did all that the PECO energy audit said needed to be done. They did some extra things like build high hats over my recessed lighting. I had some plywood which they placed under and around my AC unit for maint. They used some bat-insulation in areas where AC maint may be needed. Bat-insulation can be moved for that maint. They cleaned up EVERYTHING. They respected my family and my house. The three guys were complete gentleman and worked very professionally. We had NO problems.
Description of Work
The guys came in the first thing they did was place a fan in my front door. They matched the airflow that PECO had. Then they covered things and went up into the loft. The sealed all penetrations, added vent panels to allow air movement from the soffit vents, built insulation walls where needed (near my AC unit for maint) then blew in 12 inches of cellulose insulation. In my basement they added 2 part foam to stop air from coming in. When they were finished they performed the air test like they did when they first got to my house. It showed an improvement.
