Ehrlich Pest Control

Previous customers for over 10 years. After they were bought out by rentokil, they started billing for and performing services they were not contracted to. We tried to cancel them recently after they charged over $300 for 2 mins and 37 seconds (according to our cameras they sprayed 2 plants outside and left. Never made an attempt to even ring the doorbell to spray inside locations) of work and they closed the account but not the bill. Unable to get a supervisor or anyone at the local billing center to return my 6 phone calls. They used to be great but now they are terrible to work with. Avoid at all costs.

We called Ehrlich as we had a large number of wasps around the outside of the house. Our expectation is that the company would (1) assess the situation and (2) offer/perform remediation services to remove the wasps. The technician, who was courteous and on time, performed (1), telling us that the holly bush we had in the back was attracting the wasps, but then did not do anything for (2). So we paid $238.50 to not have anything done to address the wasps. I guess it's useful to know that the bush creates an issue, but for almost $240 I expected a solution to the issue. I will use a different service in the future.

No ants in the house although they are on the deck. Just called for follow up service. No sign of carpenter bees which have been a problem the last 2 summers. Happy so far.

Customer service representatives and service technicians were great! This was the second exterminator we hired to catch one (smart) mouse! For 3 months, the mouse continually outsmarted the first exterminator we contracted, even though they came out on numerous occasions setting bait stations, glue boards, and traps. We'd used Ehrlich in the past, and after reading good reviews on Angie's List we decided to try them again. It took a few weeks and a couple of visits but Ehrlich's methods were successful and we'll use them for regular preventive extermination from now on.

The lady who came to service our house was great. Very knowledgeable, very nice, put booties over her shoes when she was in my house, very diligent. However, the people who schedule the appointments don't return phone calls, or they schedule someone to come out and don't even tell the home owner that they have scheduled an appointment (a problem given they have to get in the house).

Richard from Erlich's is the BEST! I called the office with an ant emergency situation and Richard was here in 30 minutes. He addressed the problem in his usual efficient and courteous way. I highly recommend this company.

I would not recommend Ehrlich as a pest control company from our current experience. They issued out a 'wood destroying insect inspection report' stating that the house we are purchasing has no signs of wood destroying insect damage (the report says that 'carpenter bees' are inclusive of wood destroying insects along with other classes of bugs). We moved into the house less than 1 month ago and now there are a ton of carpenter bees flying around the house - we noticed the holes all over the house, everywhere, something any pest inspector would pick up very easily. Naturally, I called Ehrlich, with questions... they keep transferring me, will not give me any answers and are trying to sell me a package to take care of the problem. Very frustrating! They promise a bunch of things but once there is a problem, seems like they bail.

Inspector came out and advised to treat bedroom at cost of $1600.  Did not advise treating whole house.  Later told me that his supervisor said he should have treated whole house as bedroom infestation was extensive.  Day after $1600 heat treatment bed bug nymphs were in the bed and nymphs were in the treated books in bed room.  later found bedbugs in bed.  Paid $225 for dogs to come and check for bugs.  had chemical treatment for $159.00 and was told more treatment was necessary.  Spent $1200 for new chair and sofa.  bed bugs in kitchen and bedroom after second  treatment.  Obviously they don't know what they are doing.  They should have treated the whole house initially and did not.  Even the heat treatment they did in the bedroom didn't work,  i have had to hire another company at the cost of thousands of dollars to resolve the problem  Bottom Line:  Whole house should have been treated at same time and not just one room and heat treatment did not work in the room treated.  also very difficult to get Ehrlich to return calls.  definitely not recommended

The scheduling was easy.  I have had the same guy for about 10 years now and he has been wonderful.  If I have bees, wasps or anything they come right out.  They are easy to schedule, very easy to reach and it was excellent service and I love them.  They come about three times a year and it is about $180 a service.

They have a good overall service plan.  You pay for a year-round service treatment, and then, if you have additional problems throughout the year, they come on-site if you have certain type of critters.  They will take care of it and look at the problem.

If you have any problems they will come right out to fix it. They do a great job. They are very helpful. Jeff is very sweet and trustworthy. I have had them for twelve years and he has never missed an appointment.

It seemed to work, but we didn't want to pay the monthly fee anymore.  I haven't noticed a big difference between when they were coming and now.  I haven't a lot more bugs so I don't know how much it was doing.

They have offices nationwide, and I got them not from Angie's list but from other recommendations. They are good because each of their guys are licensed individuals, and all the people they send out are individually trained and licensed, and they are not like working under one man's license. The guys know exactly how things work and they have the knowledge. We have had success with them in the past and we have used them several times, and my mom also used them. I think they normally charge $195, to come out once with a thirty day guarantee, but if you take the yearly service $175 to get the service, and the add $39 a month, so the total is $643 a year, and that takes care of everything like termites and whatever you have, and they out three times a year anytime I have any issue.

They have been around for years and years. They are really good company. They are dependable. If I have any problems at all they will come right out and take care of it for me. They are very flexible with their scheduling. They try to work with me and they make sure they come at a time that is convenient for me. If I am not at home they will do the outside of the house and then they will come back and do the inside of the house whenever it works for me. They are very thorough. I think the other places are more expensive. I would use them again in the future.

They were on time and dependable. They were responsive, punctual, and professional.

They are unbelievable, responsive and typically come the same day to perform service. The technicians are nice, personable and very smart. I like that they inform me about the products they are using, which they use equally as effective products that are less effective. We found their pricing to be very competitive, relative to other companies.

It was great.  The technicians arrived on time and did a wonderful job.  They guaranteed the work for a year and would return for free if the rats or any evidence of them reappeared.  Thankfully, the rats haven't returned.

I hired Erlich to perform heat treatment to eliminate bed bugs.  The treatment failed.  Company sales representative ridiculed me and was very unprofessional.  Operations manager sent "spray and pray" technician to treat home.  He did not follow proper protocols, and I became seriously ill as a result.  Company overcharged for ineffective canine services.  I ended up having to hire another company to eliminate the bugs.

Major ant problem in kitchen. Battled them myself for 10 days. Little ****'s kept finding another way in. Did not prepare or cook meals in my kitchen for two weeks. Ehrlich did initial treatment inside and out. Amy was excellent in explaining what was going on, and why I couldn't get rid of them. I called them back twice so far because the little ****'s showed up in another area of the kitchen and in another room where I previously did not have a problem. Ants are tenacious!!! Ehrlich reps were prompt in responding. Amy is my sanity saver.

Everyone's had a rough year with ants.  We've had some come in in previous years, but we were always able to get rid of them in less than a week with Raid or similar products.  This year, none of that was stopping them, so I knew we needed a professional because we were putting the house on the market.

Based upon Angie's List ratings and personal preference, I had hoped to use a smaller, local company.  I have to be honest about that.  Their price estimates were much better and phone service just as good, but we were on a very tight time schedule due to the house going up for sale AND leaving town and Ehrlich was the only service that could fit us in on such short notice.  It did seem quite a process to get signed up for service and I got bounced around to several people on the phone with Ehrlich.  One of the people tried to convince me I must have wood-destroying insects nesting in my walls, which was truly not the case and I knew it.

On the day of service, I kept getting calls that the technician was running late.  This caused a big inconvenience, as we had appointments we had to keep before places closed for the day.  The technician was very friendly and professional, however.  He did a thorough walk-through of the entry points and the basement and confirmed there were no wood-destroying insects present, just annoying household ants.  He treated the entry points and the outside of the house, which alleviated the problem.

I do have an outstanding dispute with Ehrlich over our bill.  I paid the technician what I thought was the quoted amount, only to receive a bill with a $10 charge for signing me up for their email alert system.  I called them and they said it should have been included, as part of the estimate, in what the technician collected.  In other words, a hidden fee.  I told them I wasn't willing to pay that, this was intended to be a one-time treatment, I would never have agreed to that, and they could just un-sign me.  I was told that my complaint would be forwarded to the local office (I just called the phone number on the bill, I guess).  That was almost a month ago and I haven't heard anything more on it, although something could be in the mail, which is delayed because of forwarding.  My rating about not using them again are based upon price and this hidden fee dispute.

They seemed to be very good and reliable. If they say they would be here between 8 and 11 they are here at 8. We are usually late to get the house started. They send the same guy out and he knows exactly what to put and the traps as well.  We originally called them as were finding mice in our closet. They did a big haul and they came in and patched it up.  I think what they did was that they stuffed something in it.  My husband was in the bathroom and he heard something and he saw a mouse sticking his head out of the wall.  He called them and they put traps in my bathroom and downstairs. My husband went to a store and found that they sell a screen that tape to the wall. The tape was not holding well till we plastered it.  They are here on time and we have been with them for years.  My son keeps telling me that they are more expensive than the other pest control companies but we have never had any problems with them. We don’t mind paying the extra money to get rid of the mice either.  We had crickets too.  The same person comes out all the time and he knows our house. They got rid of everything that we had in our house. If we have a problem we can call them and they would come out.  Apart from the regular times if you need them to come out they would come out.
