"I am unable to go into the specifics of our day to day expenses, but I can tell you that because you are a customer with DDM Energy, you do get to take advantage of the benefits we have to offer as a full service company. Our uniformed, licensed, Service Technicians are available 24 hours a day, including Holidays, in case of any emergencies and insured for your protection, so you can have that peace of mind. Since we are an automatic fill company, it takes the burden off you having to watch your tank because we deliver oil as needed. We offer flexible payment options, like our Budget Plan, which allows you to spread your payments over a 12 month period. Although a 30 day notice was given prior to the contract expiring, in good faith, we offered to apply a concession for the last delivery, which was declined."
I had to call them because I was waiting all day for them to show up. They give you a time frame for when they are gonna come out, between this time and that time. The showed up more closer to the end of the time frame and not more towards the middle of the time frame, which meant my whole day was interrupted. I didn't like that. I understand you never know what the problem is going to be when you go to somebody's home. You never know if it is going to be longer. When he did the diagnoses it covered only one area of the house and not the entire house.
We used them for a year and a half. When we called to get contract pricing going into our second year, we calculated that it would be about a 150/year difference(more). Having our Boiler install payments and oil payments set up electronically it felt easier than going somewhere else, running credit and going through the motions again. I was wrong!! We took the quote that was given to us and told them we were going with them. We thought, "great! one more thing off our plate!" Well, no one sent us a contract and no one told us that when we verbally told them we were using them again that our contract didn't carry over. Our first delivery had two different costs per gallon of oil. We called, they rectified it. we thought again, "great thing we signed up for that contract!" NOPE!
Skipping ahead to the next delivery where we were charged RETAIL and no one would help us. It was all anyone could do to say it was our fault we didn't have a contract. Our fault? We had no idea that auto deliveries, talking to a sales rep that we were using them and having them correct a previous 'error' in billing wasnt all signs that we had an agreement. Everyone we spoke to was rude and acted as if we should be so lucky as to pay nearly a dollar over other vendors PER GALLON. One 'retention rep' told me they can charge more because they have better technicians. Unless they do a little dance while they are hooking up my oil, it isn't worth $1 more per gallon which is a few hundred dollars after a big fill up. It took many phone calls and many different tantrums (on my part) to get back some of the money that they over charged us....and I still feel upset about how everything was handled. (obviously!)
I would NOT RECOMMEND using this company. I feel that they not only over charged, but they think more highly of themselves than they do their customers and thats not someone I want to do business with....especially when competitors down the street are much more affordable, nice and reliable.
I signed up for their 1000 gallon price cap. The sales woman assured me that if the price of oil went down they would charge me the market price. when I had oil delivered on 12/22 they charged me the capped price which was 95 cents over market. When I called to complain, the customer service manager said I signed the contract and they weren't obligated to lower the price. He than asked me what he could do to help us. When I said I wanted to be released from the contract, he hung up on me. I also had a yearly boiler tune-up in November. The technician arrived as scheduled and completed the tune-up, but failed to complete all of the steps detailed by the manufacturer. One month later I had to replace an expansion tank, and the plumber told me that it had been bad for a long time and that the DDM tech should have noted that. A "F" review is too high for DDM. They don't monitor reviews and don't care about their customers but it helps to let others know to stay away from DDM.
