"Thank you very much for such a great review! We work really hard to offer the best service we can, so I am happy that is reflected in your experience with us. It was an absolute pleasure working with you as well."
"Thanks for taking the time to write this review, and thanks for choosing us to handle your project! I will pass your comments along to Mauro and Steve. Dave Connors CKC Landscaping"
Steve Compton was very responsive and kept me informed thoroughout the project. His estimate was not the lowest of the three I received but equal to the highest. In talking with him and I had the most confidence that he had the experience to do the job well. I was not wrong. We went to contract with a complete by date, and he performed well within the parameters. My driveway looks better now than when it was new four years ago.
His workers were polite and respected my property. They made accommodations for me so that I could get in and out of my garage while the initial work was being done.
I highly recommend this company for paver cleaning and sealing.
We are very happy with the walkway and we'd recommend CKC very highly. Steve is very polite and friendly and has a vast knowledge of plants and he is a pleasure to do business with.
The crew that installed the front work was timely and worked hard. They were polite and cleaned up their messes each day. The crew that installed the back patio was a little less hardworking however; we have no complaints about the quality of the work.
There were a number of hidden costs due to some township regulations running us approximately an additional $1800. I won't blame this on the contractors but just be aware.
I would use them again for hardscaping however; I would probably not use again for landscaping.
All in all, it is very beautiful.
"Member, Thank you for the feedback regarding your project, and I'm sorry to see your low feeling on our pricing. I know you stated you had several bids/designs when we were in the planning process and I felt I was very cautious of your stated budget desires, trying to fit in all your desired features. We overhauled your entire properties landscaping, both front and back, including patios, walls, landscaping, firepit, and lighting for less than 10% of your total homes value. A typical Landscape overhaul can cost around 15% of your properties value. If it wasn't for the severe drop off in your rear property, we would not have needed the retaining walls, thus cutting a large financial portion out of the project. 12 Volt lighting is the most common landscape lighting used today, most people that use 110v lighting in their gardens thinks it's too bright. Please remember with the back yard portion of the project a cold snap set in in late December and the average temperature for that time frame was about 25 degrees, so I would imagine that was the reason we were perceived as moving slower. We have replaced more dead shrubs at your place than on any other project, about 8 or so, and I am concerned you may have someone performing maintenance at your place using products like Roundup or something that is harming these plants. I know I have expressed this to you before, but it is very uncommon for so many plants to die off. I would also be willing to get a list from you regarding the plants you are not happy with, perhaps I can find some that interest you better and replace them. Thanks again for the feedback, and I look forward to working with you to get some more appealing plants in your gardens for you. Regards, David Connors"
"The member recently contacted me to come back and look at the walkway. She stated that the walkway was “falling apart” and that grass was growing in the joints of the stone. Upon inspection I was very surprised to see what excellent shape this walkway was in, and to what extent the conditions were misrepresented. I have pictures of this walkway on my web site (pictures #8 and #9). In those pictures you can (sort of) see the landscaping they had installed after we were finished the walkway. The member waited until the last minute to choose her stone, and the stone that she chose could not be used for the slight curve on a flexible base. I spent allot of time discussing the flexible base process with her and thought she understood why this was. The member misrepresented her intentions regarding the landscaping, and in my opinion led me to believe she wanted my company to handle it as part of this project. After receiving the verbal go ahead, I purchased the plants and installed them. After the new plants were in she informed me that she did not want us to handle it, so I removed the shrubs and she had what you see installed. I realize that I am not going to be able to please everyone, but I have genuinely tried in this case. I feel as though I was tricked into handling all the preparation work for the landscaping, lesson learned on my part. I would question why he rated us a “D” in punctuality and responsiveness as we showed up on time, performed the work in the expressed time, and I was always punctual with all our appointments. I feel as though this rating is unfair and we did an awesome job for a great price and that this report is totally unjustified."
