Poor quality work, just look at the photos. Had Chris replace 5 posts and two beams. Poor quality square notching the 6x6 posts. Didn't take the time to make a clean square cut and sloppy over cut the post with a circular saw. Most of the posts don't make contact with the beam, see the daylight between the bottom of the beam and the top of the notch on the post. So the beam isn't sitting on the post and there are large gaps between the side of the beam and the post. Told him the day of construction that using screws to attach the beams to the post wasn't correct and he responded that it was OK. So what you see in the photos is the quality of work he's OK with walking away from. Chris agreed that screws should be replaced by bolts but wouldn't fix the cuts on the post or the fact they weren't resting on the actual post. This was after a month of back and forth email, text messages, and phone calls. I told him to not replace the screw with the bolts if he wasn't going to replace/fix the posts. I end up having to place all 5 posts and replacing the screws with bolts. 1. So pretty much Chris is OK walking away from the poor quality work. 2. If you call him out to fix the major problems he won't if it actually costs him real money (not just a couple of bucks for some bolts)

We are very happy with our new kitchen. Chris was very helpful every step of the way. He was present when we picked out our materials and was understanding when we changed our mind about a few things. In addition, his team was always on time and very responsive to our suggestions. Our children and dog were present every morning and Chris and his team were always friendly and patient. Since the completion of our kitchen, Chris continues to be very responsive to our phone calls and continuously checks on our level of satisfaction.

We paid this contractor $500 to do paperwork for the project, which was being done through a government program. Then he was to complete the project: a bathroom remodel, entry doors and a back sidewalk. After many months he had still not completed the paperwork, and after I chased him down recently he said he was not going to go any further with the project. I am now out the money and the project, which was to provide bathroom accessibility for my wheelchair-bound Veteran husband. I asked for him to refund my money, as I think that is only fair, and he has not responded.

Chris and his team rescued us in the midst of a complete kitchen renovation. We were without a kitchen for some time prior to his arrival and he worked quickly to resolve issues and finish up our project. He presented everything in writing and did not incur any expenses over what was discussed. His crew arrived early in the morning and showed up when they said they would. He supplied and scheduled subcontractors in a timely fashion, as well. They were skilled, personable, and cleaned up each evening. I would recommend C & D and plan on using them for future projects. In the end we had a beautiful kitchen and consider ourselves lucky to have found someone to complete our project.

Chris McDevitt and his team of professionals did a great job making repairs to our home.  His quotes were competitive, and he kept in touch with us on a daily basis, both through emails and phone calls.  Workers arrived promptly at 8:00am each day.  Repair work looks excellent.

Chris McDevitt (owner) came to first consultation with references and provided us with a draft schematic of the renovation within a few days. He came back for a second visit before we decided to go with C&D to discuss potential changes in scope. During the second consultation, he spent an extra 30 minutes or so to help us explore what was behind our soffits. These two visits were free of charge and resulted in good revisions of the plan. During this "discussion phase" and ultimately throughout the project, Chris was very responsive to our inquiries and accommodating to any changes in plans. We interviewed three potential contractors and his price was comparable to one of the other contractors and less expensive than the third contractor. We chose C&D for the project and are very happy with the results. The project proceeded very closely to the anticipated schedule and all people who worked on the project were professional and punctual. We ordered appliances separately but Chris was in constant contact with the supplier to assure on time delivery. Very few problems were encountered during this process.

Excellent from start to finish.  Despite this being a messy job (removing plaster walls), the work area was sealed with plastic and any mess was cleaned up at the end of each workday.  The finished trim and drywall work is perfect.  The carpenter and electricians were professional and competent, and Chris (owner) stopped in every day to check on things.  We will use this company again.

He managed the entire project to perfection. He did contract out the plumbing and electric work and the professionals he used were equally professional. The project stayed within budget and was completed on time. Chris also checked back with us at three, six and twelve months to make sure we were still as pleased as we were the day he finished the job. I highly recommend Chris and C & D Construction, we will use him again without hesitation when another project arises.

We could not have been happier with Chris. His workmanship and professionalism stood out from the very beginning. The attention to detail on the construction was fantastic but just as impressive was his attitude and the cleanliness of the job site. We were living in the house during the renovations and Chris made it extremely livable. Everyday, the job site was swept clean and Chris had installed plastic sheathing walls to keep the dust down and seperate living area from work area. From the beginning Chris said this would be a 30 day job and although dealing with several issues (slanted floor and plumbing re-route) completed job on day 29. Chris' follow up has been outstaning, has been in touch at 3 month and 6 month mark and there have been no issues. We will be considering him for future bathroom renovations in our house. Our 4 year old is still looking for when Chris and his guys are coming back!

It went perfect.  The kitchen looks even better than my wife and I imagined it would.  Chris and C&D pay great attention to detail, were always working when he said he would be, and did all of the work for a fair price.  I plan on using C&D again for future home improvement projects.  I highly recommend C&D Construction LLC!
