Far too bad!

This business has a new owner as of the spring of 2014. Some images and awards represent the work of the former owner. The current owner does provide interesting designs but when something goes bad soon after the warranty, the owner is quick to blame circumstances beyond his control (weather, homeowner maintenance, etc.), rather than the poor tradesmanship of his staff or sub-contractors. Installed plants sometimes fail not because of homeowner maintenance, but because of the designer's plant selection for the environment, i.e., plants that need sun rather than shade. Plant replacement is pretty high after the warranty period. Summarizing: nice design with mediocre to poor installation.

It went well. The colors, textures, and design were pleasing. Any problems which occurred were corrected to my satisfaction. Frederick was very responsive.

The two workers that came were professional and efficient; they did a good job.

In addition to the spring clean-up, they checked and fixed all of our out-door lights that are in the gardens. They were very capable, pleasant, on-time and we were very pleased with the results.

We had the pleasure of working with Frederick from Garden Design.  Frederick was very prompt in returning our calls and setting up a meeting to go over the ideas we had for our project.  About a week after we had our original meeting we had a second meeting to go over the design.  During our second meeting, every detail was explained and all our questions were answered. 
We knew right away that Garden Design was the company for us.  Out of the 6 proposals we had it was obvious how much effort and thought was put into this design.  During the install Garden Design's team was always very polite, professional and extremely hard working.  The team went the extra mile to make sure everything was in the correct location and looked perfect as if it was their own house.  Frederick was always in constant communication with us during the whole process which worked out great as we made a few changes on the fly.
To be honest we were a little skeptical regarding the dry stack wall out front.  After looking on the internet at a few pictures of dry stack walls we were very worried it would not come as we had imagined.  Needless to say we were speechless how awesome it turned out!!  John from Garden Design builds the best walls we have ever seen, he is a true hardscaping artist with great talent!
It was an absolute pleasure working with Garden Design from start to finish.  The project could not have gone any better and the entire finished project is absolutely stunning!  We are constantly having neighbors and random people stop by and compliment us on our new landscaping/hardscaping!  We strongly recommend them!

 My design and installation was fantastic!  Joanne and team are very customer focused.  They have a fantastic selection of plant material so your garden does not look like every other garden in the neighborhood.  They  do what they say they will do when they say  they will do it.  Changes/Additions are met with a CAN DO attitude and they deliver without hesitation.  Each employee on the premises was courteous and cared for my property as if it were their own...going above and beyond regularly.  From start to finish, everything was spelled out and Joanne was very engaged in the entire process.  She has been happy to educate me to the needs of various  plants that have gone in and has always responded in a very timely fashion to any inquiries.  Honestly...I think they are a great company and I look forward to moving ahead with the front yard in the coming year and would not hesitate to source the business with Joanne again.  The  dogs and I can coexist in my beautiful new garden and my husband and I spend tons of time out there now...where formerly I could not bear to  sit  out there.  Don't hesitate to call Joanne Kostecky Garden Design.  Fabulous results!

I have been using Joanne Kostecky Garden Design for eight years. They have innovative design and excellent maintenance. And they have excellent staff. She is absolutely dependable.

A representative of the company came to the property  and we agreed on  service terms.  Then  the gardener scheduled to do the job came and we agreed on approx. price, followed by his appearance with assistant on the agreed upon day.  Next scheduled service is August to be followed by minor  landscaping  later in the fall. Kostecky Gardening  appears to be very customer oriented, although  Joanne Kostecky personally no longer accepts requests to come for personal consultation.  Consultation is performed by another member of  her firm (Consultation applied to landcaping to be performed later this fall.  Evaluation of that service will follow.  W.A.K .

 In late fall, Joanne Kostecky walked our property.  It was immediately evident that she was an expert in her field.  She was direct, honest, and concerned about our overgrown plantings, educating us along the way.  Impressed with her expertise, we chose her to create a design and later met with her for a power point demonstration presentation and for a blueprint of her plan.  At that time, were given a printed list of selected plants, a CD to view, along with a detailed list of costs.  Joanne  completely accommodated our needs within our budget.
