I normally don't like writing these types of reviews but since I was on the phone with Keith and he wouldn't spend two
minutes listening to my side of the story before hanging up on me, I'll tell it here.  One weekend, my hot water heater stopped working.  On Monday, I called a plumber and he came said the breaker to the heater was tripped, even though it appeared on (I tried resetting it myself before calling the plumber and couldn't get it to work).  The breaker, he said, was very old and needed
to be replaced, along with the wiring to the heater, which was undersized.  He was able to reset the breaker so we had hot water again, but warned it's only a matter of time before it fails again.  I asked the plumber if he had any electrician referrals and he provided the name of a young but experienced electrician who is just starting his practice.  On Wednesday, we woke up and again the heater wasn?t working. I called the referred electrician first thing in the morning and left a message on his voicemail that we were without hot water and wanted an estimate on replacing a faulty breaker.  I did not hear from him for a couple hours so I decided to call Keith Martin, a familiar local contractor whose number was listed on my breaker panel, for a second estimate in case the first guy didn?t respond.  I spoke to the receptionist at KM and told her my situation.  She told me they would look at their schedule and call me back when they knew someone could come out.  By mid-day I was getting very anxious, since I had not heard back from either contractor.  Then I logged into Angieslist and found the highest rated electrician that was nearby, JJF Electrical.  Jim answered and said he wouldn?t be able to look at the job today, but could be over the following day at 730am, so I said okay.  At 315pm Keith himself called me and told me if I still wanted someone to the house he could have someone there in 15 minutes.  Excited that they could come that day, I happily agreed.  At 5pm I called my wife at home to get a status update on the estimate and she tells me he came and left and would be sending us an estimate.  At this point I was a little confused why he would be sending an estimate, when clearly there was an immediate need for it due to lack of hot water, but nonetheless, I had JJF coming the next day so at least I would have an estimate by then.  At 715am on Thursday, JJF was there and replaced the breaker that morning for $350.  Friday afternoon I received in the mail the proposal from Keith Martin to replace the breaker for $895, along with an invoice for a service call for $125.  I called Keith today to get an explanation for the ?service call,? and he said it was because it was an emergency visit due to the urgency of the repair.  Had it been a non-emergency visit, they wouldn?t have sent someone out for at least 2 weeks.  It was never communicated to me that way.  The receptionist only told me someone would call back, and when Keith did, he only said they could send someone right over.  When I tried to explain this to him, he  kept interrupting me by telling me how he is the best electrician in the area and how he has been in business for many years. And if I didn?t feel like paying the invoice, he would have to put me on the ?do not service? list.  If this was truly an emergency service visit, wouldn't they try to fix it the same day, instead of having me wait days without hot water for a proposal to come through USPS?  Eventually, he just hung up on me.  Obviously this guy has so much business, he didn?t need a new customer, and that?s fine with me.  I will gladly use JJF Electrical. 
* I'll also note the younger electrician, Scott Watson, called me back Thursday morning and was very apologetic that he didn't call back the same day. He said they were having phone system issues.  I will try him in the future.

I had to call a couple times to get a confirmed date and time for somebody to come out, look at the work and provided me with an estimate.  A gentleman from the company came out and looked at the long list of work I have to be done, one item being a priority.  I was told he didn't like email so he would mail it to me.  After one week,not receiving the quote, I called and was told he'll call me back.  I called again the following week and was told the man that came to the house was out of the office.  The third week I called and he was out of town.  After a month I gave up, all they did was waste my time.  I found another electrician who came right out and gave me a quote right then and there.  He then fixed the pertinent item and scheduled a time to come back for the rest of the work.   I always thought they were a reputable company, no so much now.

He is a huge operation. He is really good and he is really expensive. They are an outstanding electrical company. They are stocked so they do not have to keep running around to get stuff. They roll in with drop clothes and roll themselves out with them. They leave the place as clean as when they arrived. They are an exceptional outfit. I would give him a list of things that I wanted done and he would give me a price. One time when I went to my mom's his crew was moving paintings around for her. I will continue to use him.

Very professional and provided clear information about the cause and the possible cures. |The initial contact by phone was dicey as they were busy and indicated it would be a significant wait before anyone could come out. (weeks!) Then I received a call a couple days later saying the electrician was on his way to my house. Fortunately I was able to leave the office and let him in. All's well that ends well...

Great experience all around. The young lady I spoke with on the phone to schedule the appointment was friendly and efficient. The 2 guys that came out to do the repairs were on time and polite- they were actually early and called ahead to make sure it would work with our schedules if they arrived early. We had a porch light out and a doorbell that has not worked since we moved in- the 2 guys from Keith Martin that came out were able to quickly troubleshoot both issues without difficulty. They were friendly and professional and knowledgeable; really a pleasure to have working on the house. We were thinking of upgrading a portion of our home security system which is integrated with the house and have had a few other odds and ends of electrical issues that they were able to check out and advise us on, as well while they were there. They came to me recommended by my Uncles and I am so glad to have found them! I know other reviewers have said they feel they are expensive but I feel like I would rather pay a little more for hard working honest workers that do a good job so I was fine with the pricing. Have added them to our list of people we will use for home repairs in the future.

I was generally satisfied with Keith Martin Electric. They were very responsive and I would give them high marks in every category. They don't maintain the generator, but they referred me to somebody else. Their price depends on the size of the generator, but the price was good. I would use them again.

Keith Martin was supposed to come to my home for an estimate on Friday and did not show nor did he call. I called the office and apparently there was a mix up on their side. We set up another appointment for today, Monday, for 10 a.m. Again, he never showed nor did he call. I wasted my morning waiting on this guy for a second time!
Now, to be fair, he typically does not do estimates on these days. He made and exception for us because of our busy schedules. I guess we were not an exception after all.
I would never hire him, if he cannot even show up for an estimate. Beware!Es

With the bad weather ahead I decided to get quotes on getting a back-up generator installed. After having work done in May, I choose Keith Martin Electric to do the work. They did the install, contracted the plumber for the gas, and had the generator company do the start-up. I feel very confident going into the winter months with the generator, and pleased again with Keith Martin Electric's service.

I called for a quote on the work I needed done and was scheduled for a free estimate the following day. Keith came out and walked through my job and gave me great suggestions for the lighting I wanted him to do.

I received my proposal via email in a day or two.

Scheduling the work was easy too. The guys came to do the work they, were on time, clean, and I felt comfortable with them in my home.

I added a few items and was charged reasonably for them. I was very impressed with Keith Martin Electric the were professional knowledgable. I would use them again and have recommended them to others.

He's not cheap or inexpensive, but his work is worth it. His people are very pleasant, knowledgeable, and they get their work done quickly and neatly. It does take a long time for them to get back to you. I will continue to use him in the future.

Once I was finally able to schedule the work with Keith Martin, the connection of outdoor lights, outlets and connection of Hot Tub went fine, however, installation of the bathroom exhaust fan has not gone well. Initially, bathroom exhaust fan installed did not exhaust (soffet vents inadequate). Keith's crew came to investigate and then came back when no one was home and installed new soffet vent (I had to connect fan to exhaust myself). Shortly thereafter, fan kicked off while running. A different employee from Keith Martin came as scheduled and simply installed a new exhaust fan. Shortly thereafter, fan kicked off again. Keith has never returned multiple calls, email and faxes to resolve the problem. Everytime I call, his admin seems annoyed to stay on the call for more than a few seconds and seems unconcerned about the problem. Overall, terrible customer svc. and follow-up from a larger operation which has a big presence on the mainline. Will not use again and still have fan problem.

THE WORKER WAS ON TIME TO FIX OUR LIGHTS, AND HE DID A GOOD JOB. HE WAS KIND, POLITE AND BROUGHT THE SPECIALLY ORDERED BULBS TO FIX OUR LIGHTS CORRECTLY.
