To say we were disappointed is an understatement. It all started good. Keith was personable and made suggestions about a way to make the shower bigger and to have a rain shower head. The job, wfich he said would ne 3 weeks, to do the shower plus the heating fans in both bathrooms started in early july 2022. 2 weeks into the job I noticed the shower base wasn't made larger as agreed. Keith's initial response was "Oh. Guess we missed that." Eventually he said he could redo it but it would take 6 to 8 weeks or he could keep it as is and discount the price and be done in a few days. We chose the latter for convenience. Then we found missing grout, uneven tile installation, the floor not evenly angled towards the drain, the wrong heat fan in 1 bathroom. He showed no urgency and didn't finish until late October. Then he tried billing for items needed to fix his screw ups. 2 years later, grout and caulk need replaced, the pipe used is too small so there's constant puddles and more issues.

Overall good work. Coordinated well with the roofing team (different company). Framed two of the skylights incorrectly - needed our intervention to get it right. Also, some of the work was very crooked, but the drywaller corrected most of that.

The job started off well and all of the sub-contractors were polite and completed their assignments. Unfortunately, two filler strips for the vanity were ordered but only one was delivered when the vanity arrived. The work began in October and the last date KCL was here was November 11. At that time Keith was paid all but $250 for labor. I was told it would be two weeks before the filler strip and bottom molding would arrive and they would be installed then. I called and left messages repeatedly for Mr. Lynam with him picking up only once at which time he stated the filler material was in his garage. We scheduled a Thursday for him to come and the entire day passed with no one arriving. When I called the following week I was told he had forgotten our appointment. Unfortunately he never returned any of my numerous calls asking him to complete the job. Our bath was incomplete, we had paid for the filler material and he refused to pick up or return calls. On a hunch I had a friend call him ten minutes after I did and, what a surprise, he picked up. After waiting almost three months for this project to be finished, I contacted the supply house to repurchase the filler in hopes of finding someone else willing to finish the job. I also left a final message for Mr. Lynam regarding my intention to contact Angie's List and file a suit in small claims court because I had paid for $400 sconces that I did not use in my initial payment to KCL. He was also contacted by the supply house. He contacted me the following day. The materials were installed and I was refunded my money on January 31, 2011. The two-week job took 3 months. The sad part is the crew were lovely, the work appears to have been well done, but there was no excuse for the lack of professionalism and leaving an incomplete job for three months.

The experieince was excellent. Keith showed up on time on the appointed day and completed the work for the agreed upon price, which was the lowest of the prices offered by the three electrical firms that I solicited for bids.

The support structure holding up our 2nd floor deck/balcony had rotted out. Three of the four pressure-treated beams were completely rotten due to a design flaw by the original builder. The overall length of the span was 22?+. Due to the length, Ken advised that we had to use a custom microlam or LVL beam in order to adhere to code. Unfortunately, this drove the price up 50% more than other quotes I had received; as they had all quoted the job using 3 pressure-treated beams. I had another contractor suggest the same, so I felt comfortable with Ken?s knowledge and justified the additional cost because of the superior materials being used. On the day of installation, he realized the beam solution wouldn't work for whatever reason. I didn?t press for an explanation. He felt terrible about the mistake, but I was now paying a premium for a relatively simple job. He instead used pressure treated lumber; which he now insisted would pass code. Had I known that, I probably would?ve used another provider based on cost alone. The custom beam really drove the price up, and was now unnecessary. I ended up paying $900 more to have KCL do the job. Overall, Ken was very punctual and efficient. He was able to make the repair in a timely manner and was a pleasure to work with. I appreciated his honesty regarding the mistake, and got the sense it was an anomaly. I would consider using KCL again for other jobs around my house.

Keith came out to discuss work I wanted done, with the plan that he would do the electrical work and also act as the general contractor for interior painting and flooring. He was very nice and gave me some good suggestions. Gave me the names of a painter and flooring guy to talk with and I had both of them come out to estimate their piece and pass on to Keith. I never received an estimate from Keith Lynam and he did not respond to my email or phone call inquiring about the job. Perhaps he was busy or thought my job was too small, but I would have at least appreciated him telling me that rather than leaving me hanging out there. I've since had the electrical work done by Jack Flash (excellent!) and am dealing with the rest of the job on my own. Contractors have a terrible reputation for following through -- I guess this is why.

We were amazed at the responsiveness of KCL from start to finish. Keith promptly came out (within a day or two) to see what we wanted done. He then prepared a detailed written estimate (via e-mail) detailing the various things we discussed. This allowed us to determine if we wanted to only do part of the project now and the rest later. After making our decision on the project and choosing the light fixtures and once the order arrived, the fixtures were picked up by KCL and their electricians (two) came and installed all fixtures. They were here for about 1 1/2 days. The wallboard repairman arrived two days later. After the job was completed Keith came back to do a final inspection and ensure we were satisfied with the job.

I had previously used Keith to fix a problem circuit in February 2007. At that time we also discussed upgrading to a 200amp service to allow me to finish our basement. His price quote was $1850.00. In December, a problem with the external panel caused the internal panel to lose ground, ultimately resulting in both an electric and gas emergency. While PECO was able to give us short-term power, Keith responded quickly to understand the problem, in fact, he found an additional problem that PECO missed averting another issue. Although he made the quick repair, we also decided to replace and upgrade the service panels, which Keith did at the original estimate price from 10 months earlier. Two days later, Keith's electrician replaced the old service, added the new 200amp service and upgraded our ground post. All work was done very professionally. The wiring is now meticulously laid out in the new panel! I do a great deal of my own home repair/renovation, and highly recommend KCL.
