He was great.  It was a father son team.  They don’t hire a crew because they try to keep quality control.  They are very responsive.  They have done an amazing job earlier during the year.  I have never met more professional people.  I don’t even know them, but I paid them before the job was done because I had to get my son to a baseball game.  When I came back more was done than I expected.  It is a different treatment that I was used to.  The guy came from another town even though it was pretty far away to service my pool.  I would recommend him to anybody.  The job was done while I had my kids out for breakfast.  He called me over the phone and said that he could make it out that weekend otherwise he wouldn’t be able to come out for a week.  I did understand that.  The previous job was $800.  It was a very good deal.  I was very happy.  I had the same motor and it was refurbished through another company.  American Pool did a great job.  I have already used them to look at my pool for a couple of things that they had done.  So, probably by the end of summer I am going to have them do a few things.

they come out regularly, but the level of care and attention to detail has always been a problem. Whenever I complain, they send out a manager who smooths things over for a while but it always goes back to the same pattern. I think that our usual service guy is clueless and just going thru the motions. He often leaves the wrong valves open or closed. When I call and ask for a call back, they usually dont get back to you on a timely basis. We recently had a major problem after a major storm. We were told everything was fine and for a whole week the pool stayed exactly how it was on day 1. Green and cloudy. Everyday he came by and dumped more chemicals in and said things were fine. In the meantime the filter was requiring a backwash every 20 minutes. After a week pf backwashing every hour or so, our pool was partially empty and our service guy told us he thought we had a leak!!! What an Idiot. He was obviously never listening to us nor did he care to call in the problem. I started to go online and realized we were just being misled. When I complained to the management, finally the next day they sent someone out who told us within 5 minutes of arrival that the problem was very obvious and that the filter was broken.

I contacted the company for an estimate of weekly pool maintenance. The tech came but no one followed up. I called the company myself, and was told that I needed to wait for the estimate in the mail, and then sign and return. Three days later, since I still didn't receive the estimate, I called again and got the machine. So I left a message asking if they could email me the estimate instead, so we could get the process started sooner. No one returned my call.
The estimate arrived a week after the tech came out. I signed and returned the contract, and then waited. More than a week went by and I still did not hear back from anyone. Called again, was told they'd check it out (?? don't know what they are supposed to check) but would call me back the next morning. Morning came but of course no one called. Called again in the afternoon, got the machine and left a message. Finally out of frustration I called again in about an hour, this time a very rude person tole me: I've relayed your message, what more do you want me to do?? Well, I want to know whether I'm on schedule, I want to know if there's someone who's actually running the business! Anyway, at this point I saw it was hopeless, so I said don't bother, I'd find someone else.
Summary: this company is a no man's land. No one is taking charge of anything; no one will ever return your phone calls; no one knows what happens to your pool whatsoever. Don't waste your time.

We started the process in October, but permits took some time and they didn't remove the pool until November.  We had to wait until the spring for them to seed the grass, which has grown up well.

The work was performed in a professional and efficient manner.  I am very pleased with the repairs and my pool is functioning beautifully.

My pool had not been opened for 2 years.  They opened the pool, got everything going, and had the water sparkling in 2 1/2 weeks.  Fabulous job.  Totally professional!

We had a pool that needed to be drained & cleaned because it hadn't been opened in two to three years. We then used American Pool Service for maintenance. We found the personnel very polite and pleasant to deal with. Maintenance services were good. The biggest problem was communications -- between HQ & maintenance workers & both of them and me. Communication was largely by paper tags that I didn't see for days because I didn't live full-time in the house. Neither the phone nor email was used. The other significant problem was failure to fix an ongoing leak -- a problem I identified -- until it suddenly grew much worse. This could have imperiled a home sale. Once the leak worsened, it was fixed quickly and cheaply -- at much less cost than all the extra water I had to use over the two summers. Not a perfect experience, but I'm not sure how much better competitors would be.

Fit us into their schedule immediately and consistently kept the pool in good shape. Very positive experience for the first time in many years of hiring pool services. Would highly recommend.
