Treated rudely by the company. Requested a written reply to our letter. Never received one.

"The heat pump system was installed 8-9-11 with a ten year parts warranty and a one year labor warranty, this was all spelled out on our proposal form which they agreed to. The break down on 1-15-16 was in the electronics of the indoor fan unit. We made a temporary repair so Mr. [Member Name Removed] would have heat. We did have an issue with parts procurement from our local vendor, where we purchased the HVAC system. None of failed parts were in any of there Pennsylvania and Ohio locations. The parts were ordered from the Luxaire /York factory. In all Shearer Heating & A/C spent 13.5 hours onsite and with Factory Technical support. In total Mr. [Member Name Removed] was billed $337.00 and all parts were covered under the ten year warranty. To my knowledge the system has been in normal operation since 1-21-16."

Shearer originally installed my AC and furnance several years ago. They were good back then so I called them for this project. They answered the phone and I was able to talk to several people about my project. They gave me a rough cost and scheduled someone to remove the condenser. The technician showed up promptly and remvoed the unit and prepared it for storage until it could be reinstalled in a few weeks. They were then called to come back and reinstall the unit 2 months later (in the midst of a 90 degree + heat wave). They came out promptly (several days) and reinstalled and tested the AC unit. The work was done very professionally. The technician answered several questions about the new site. My only issue (which turned out to be of no concern) was the originally scheduled technician called in sick that day. They were able to get someone else to keep the appointment and finish the job on time.

They had the best price, so, we ended up going with them. However, I am not always crazy about the guys that they send out and we have forced air, so, they never have the right filter when they come. That is why I prefer to use another company for heating & cooling whenever I can.
