This project couldn't have gone better. The responsiveness was great. The price was great. The turnaround time on a project that was somewhat of an emergency couldn't have been better. From initial contact, through quote, and to start of the work, it took less than 48 hours. The crew was on time, clean, very friendly and respectful, and the work looks great. Couldn't recommend these guys more and I will definitely be using them for all foundation / waterproofing work going forward.

Team works super fast, leaves space very clean. Very impressed with how little damage was done to finished basement laundry room and garage. Beat other quotes by $1100!

We are in the process of selling our home and even though damp basements are very common in our neighborhood, we had several buyers comment and we decided to correct the situation.  I had four different waterproofing companies come out and give estimates and Rick was the clear choice.  One, he was recommended by a friend who is also a realtor.  Two, he seemed to really know what he was talking about, but was not giving me a hard sales pitch.  My sense is that some of the bigger companies send salesmen out, who have never actually performed the work (e.g. One rep was so perplexed by the fact that our basement was two levels.  Rick never even mentioned this, and they simply dug through the height difference).  Lastly, Rick's price was very reasonable.  We ended up paying more than two other estimates, but Rick's fee included more work: wall reconditioning, a french drain around the entire perimeter and installation of a sump pump.
Notably, our home is now under contract and we have had several comments about what a good job this company did.  The home appraiser even asked for the name of the company that did the work!
The crew was punctual and the work was finished on schedule.  Long story short, I HIGHLY recommend this company.

Rick was fantastic to deal with.  He came out and gave us a free estimate on what we needed and provided us with several options.  We settled on the interior French drain, and his price was well below what anyone else could even come close to.  The day of the job his crew showed up on time, worked very hard, were extremely polite and answered any questions that my wife of I had.
One of our main concerns was that since I was already in the process of finishing the basement, all the walls were already up and I already had a fireplace feature wall placed in the corner, how much would have to be redone as a result of the work.  The answer ended up being nothing.  His crew was able to dig out in front of the walls and then under them so that nothing was damaged and even went under the corner fireplace wall without damaging the stone façade.  Once the drain pipe was in place they graveled it in and then concreted back over it (and under my walls) so that once the concrete cured, everything was in place like nothing ever happened.
I cannot possibly recommend Rick and the crew of R S Fountain highly enough!  You are making a mistake if you do not hire them for your basement repair needs!

After I expressed concerns about a leak in a concrete block wall, including pushed out blocks, Rick came and assessed the situation.  He stated that, in his opinion, the basement wall would hold for at least another 10-20 years, and that there were no immediate structural concerns.  He stated that I did NOT need work done right away, but, if I wanted to solve the water issue, what he would do was dig up the floor, extend the french drain (which did not extend into that section of the basement), and roughcast the wall including anchoring metal lathes to add strength to the wall.  He did caution me that it was possible that when they dug up the floor they might find that they needed to do additional work, which would add to the estimate.  When the work was actually done, he told me there was no need for any additional work (I appreciate the honesty, as I really wouldn't have known otherwise). This work was done in March, and we have had some heavy rains since then.  My basement has had absolutely no leaks in that time.  He did have to reschedule at one point, but, I had asked if it would be possible to have it done on a weekend, so, I appreciate that he was able to accommodate my schedule.

I've worked with Rick in the past, and trust him completely.  As such, I was comfortable calling him to assess the existing waterproofing system in the house we just purchased.  Rick visited several times and spent a great deal of time looking around our basement.  Ultimately, he advised there is nothing to be done presently.  Rick could easily have told me that there was significant work to be done, and I would not have known any better.  Rick did not wish to take any compensation for his assessment and time.
If (okay, when) we wind up with water in our basement, I won't hesitate to call him.

Rick doesn't even follow Angie's list ans doesn't solicit good reviews. he just does his work like he's done for years and let's his work do the reputation building. Very personable and suggested a better solution to my problem than what I asked him to perform.  I'm about to call him again for work at my sister's house.  I was a former construction engineer and can't be fooled by fake contractors. This guy is legit. Call him and don't about about the rest.

It went great. The guy was fantastic. It looks really nice.  He was a little late getting started but once he did it only took him three days finish it.

We had a great experience with Rick and his crew from beginning to end.  Getting an estimate was easy, with no sales pressure.  We had a relatively short timeline in which we wanted to have the work done, and Rick managed to fit us into his schedule.  On the day of the work, his crew was professional and efficient.  They performed a very dirty job, but took great care to keep the area clean.

They were very prompt and on time.  The lower level of my split entry is totally dry.  I am very pleased.  The only side note I have is I wish they had taped off the stairs to the upper level.  Even though there was no furniture yet it sure left dust on all windows and kitchen cupboards and doors.

After heavy rain falls or after heavy snow falls melted I had a strong stream of water flowing in my basement from one corner.  My basement floor is not sloped toward the floor drain so the water accumulated in a 15 foot area.  I needed to sweep the water toward the drain which spread the dampness outward.  Even with a dehumidifier the basement had a damp feel and the cement where the water collected was beginning to crumble.  I called Mr. Fountain in August after waiting 4 months to hear back from another contractor from whom I received an estimate for the work.  Mr. Fountain came the next day to check the area and give me an estimate for the work.  Mr. Fountain checking the basement and around the outside of my home he explained what he would do and how that would alleviate the problem.  He would install a French drain in my basement for 10 feet along the wall where the water collected, 3 feet along the step into the basement, and on the pad at the bottom of my cellar steps.  These would feed into the sump pump which would pump the water out to my down spout.  He also would install a drain at the bottom of my cellar steps to assure any water coming in from under the steps would feed into the sump pump.  He explained how long the work would take on the day the workman came and told me that it would be approximately 2 weeks before he could begin the work.  After dealing with the other contractor who gave me an estimate in May and never returned my calls about when the work would be done I really appreciated the time frame.  He called me to set up the work date within 7 days and 10 days after he gave me the estimate the work was scheduled.  I was over the moon with his promptness. The work began at 10 A.M. and it was completed by 2:30 P.M.  The two men who did the work were professional and worked straight through to complete the job.  After having to break up so much cement I was very pleased to see the area clean and tidy.  Mr. Fountain came back before the job was completed to check that all work was done to his satisfaction and took me through all they had done and what to expect with new cement before it was cured completely.    I am very pleased with the work and would recommend this contractor to anyone needing similar work.

We received multiple estimates on waterproofing our basements.  We chose RS fountain based on their price and their grade & reviews on Angie's List.  Rick and his team showed up when they said they would.  It took 2 days to complete the job and they made sure to clean up when they finished.  They were very professional and performed the job in a timely manner.  We are very satisfied with their work and like that the system has a lifetime warranty.  We will definitely call them if we need any other foundation work done in the future.

I needed a sump pump replaced to pass a township inspection. The situation had occurred quickly. My plumber didn't return my phone calls.I looked on Angie's List and called Mr.Fountain. He answered his phone himself, listened to my story and said he could come the next day. He arrived exactly on time, explained the new pump's features and installed it. The work was done in less than an hour. Mr. Fountain also took the time to answer my many questions on how my water proofing system works. I had bought my house with it already installed and had no clue as to how it worked.I would definitely use Mr. Fountain's service again and recommend him to others.

The whole project went very smoothly.  His price was right on target compared to the other estimates I received.  I chose him because he was able to present several options in order to fix the water leak in my garage and therefore seemed to know his stuff.  He arrived exactly on time and stayed late in order to finish the job in one day as promised.  I had the unfortunate problem with the water leak after I refinished my garage floor.  Rick and his team had to bust through my new garage floor to install the sump pump.  However, he spent the extra time to ensure that the transition between the newly poured concrete and the pre-existing epoxy on my garage floor was seamless -- it worked, because afterwards I patched the epoxy floor and you cannot tell the difference.  I totally appreciated the extra time and care he put into my project and would highly recommend his without any reservation.

Rick and his crew arrived exactly on time to do the work which took two days. They first excavated the basement floor. Then they installed a french drain and re cemented the floor. They also put water proofing paint on the walls and installed a sump pump.

Rick and his crew did a great job in our basement, installing an interior french drain along the perimeter of our basement.  In addition, Rick dug out the old concrete in a coal cellar and laid new concrete, then painted dry lock throughout.  We were pleased with Rick's pricing and responsiveness, always leaving the house in good condition prior to the end of the shift.

Rick and his crew timely and did excellent work. They were able to solve my basement water leakage issue in a very affordable and unnoticeable way. The drain they installed is hardly noticeable and gets the job done. They were timely and finished the job in a few days. They kept the work site clean. I would definitely use them again.
