In moving the piano out of my in-laws house, the recently refinished piano was damaged heavily on one side and scratched up on the other. Also, they damaged the brickwork around the cellar door in their efforts to get the piano out of the basement.
As far as fixing the piano, Dave came out and fixed the heavily damaged part pretty well but claimed the other scratches weren't from the move and didn't try to fix them as well. It was difficult to reach him and he apparently had truck issues that caused delays in his schedule. That part I can understand but the lack of communication was frustrating.
After multiple phone calls, Dave finally sent his helper out to fix the brickwork at the house, telling me that he was experienced in this and would do a good job. He did a horrible, horrible job. When I showed the pictures of the work to Dave, he admitted that the work was poor. He went out to fix the bricks himself eventually. His work was better but it still is obvious that work was done on the bricks. They aren't straight, the mortar is all over the place and it generally looks sloppy. It is going to cost more than we paid to move the piano to fix the mess that was left.
