"The quote for this home was actually for piers to stabilize the foundation from sinking and not anchors. It is not unusual for our competitors to quote less work and offer lower prices as a result. If price is the only factor in deciding who to hire, be prepared for some disappointments."
"On 6-8-2010 my company did give a quote to the member but a contract was never signed and a deposit was never received for the job. On 8-5-2011 she called and had decided to proceed with the work. Some price revisions were made in 2011 that changed the price to $3165. We will only honor previous years pricing if a deposit is made at the time of agreement. The work was completed on 9-15-2011. There were some difficult issues as far as installing a sump pump and it was agreed with the owner to simply eliminate the sump pump and tie the new drainage into the existing system which also resulted in a savings to the customer of $965. The difference in actual cost increase over the price quoted in 2010 was $154. On September 26, 2011 she called again and was given an appointment with an estimator for what sounded like additional work. Had it been described as a leak in the new system it would have been referred to our service department. We have no record of any requests for service to the existing system. We certainly never refused to fix it "till 2012". Unfortunately the member spent $3000 to fix something that would have been covered under our warranty at no cost to the customer had the communication about the problem been better. With an A+ Better Business Bureau rating and having received 3 BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics since 2006, the comments that the "company is worthless, untrustworthy, and I feel I was totally taken advantage of" is certainly uncalled for. If the communication problem was our fault, I apologize, but I see nothing in our records to indicate we were told accurately what the problem was."
"Thank you. We appreciate the nice comments."
"Thank you for the opportunity to do your work."
"Thank you for the kind words."
"The member called us to install an additional 26' of BrightWall, a SaniDry dehumidifier and pump maintenance to her existing sump pump. She was given a proposal for that work for $2147 which she signed. The actual quantity of BrightWall changed to 22' from the quoted amount of 26'. The invoice for the work was printed without knowledge of the change in quantity. The member is correct in stating the invoice that was preprinted was for too much money. It was changed when the revised quantities were noted. She was not overcharged for any of the items purchased. I have written her twice to clarify the confusion and she acknowledged the charges were correct. Contrary to her last posting I have responded to all of her inquiries."
"The customer never contacted us about any dissatisfaction with the work. Normally our office staff does a follow up call after completion but unfortunately the call was never placed to this customer. We will be contacting the customer to see if there is anything we can do to resolve his issue."
"The postings dated Nov. 2, 2009 and Sept. 14, 2006 both concern an installation completed in August 2006. We show no record the customer ever contacted us expressing dissatisfaction with the work we did for him. Installing a SunHouse windowell requires removing an old windowell and installing the new SunHouse unit. I'm not sure what he refers to when he says "they did the minimum amount of work". The site conditions determine the degree of difficulty and the amount of labor required to install. The customer was given a full color brochure describing and showing the SunHouse. A SunHouse unit is not a "cheap" product, in fact it is probably the most expensive windowell made but it offers features not available from other similar products. The posting dated Sept. 14, 2006 concerns rerouting a problem downspout conductor line. A new piping system was installed by digging a 30 foot trench thru his yard to install new piping. Digging dirt trenches is not "clean" work. Based on the weather conditions the ground could have been mud, not just dry dirt. I'm not sure what the customer expected."
"We find no notations about any concern about installing a radon system after our work was completed. If a customer has concerns or has an existing radon system we accommodate that condition by installing an airtight barrier against the wall the ties into the interior drain system. The open channel behind our piping can then be sealed with caulking to satisfy the radon requirements. This customer was offered this barrier but decided not to include it with the work. Based on the inclusion of the barrier on the proposal, it is possible radon issues were discussed but the customer made the decision to not include the barrier with the drain system"
