"Curt and his co worker Chris have been cutting my lawn and performing a number of other landscaping projects over the past 10 years or so. In addition, I hired them to build a large patio in my back yard. It came out beautiful! Curt is extremely easy to work with and really works closely with his client. I couldn't ask for a better professional working on my very specific needs. Finally, Curt and Chris are just really good people."

"We had an excellent experience with Plymouth Landscaping! We hired them to complete a deck removal and patio install, with some plantings around the perimeter. Joe and his team were always available to answer questions, and we had a LOT. Our yard is small and sloped and they came up with brilliant solutions in order to utilize the space we were working with. Jose, Arturo and Carlos were super knowledgeable, professional, cleaned up every evening before departing. I would highly recommend Plymouth Landscaping for your backyard projects!"

"Bill provided a garden solution for a low area in our yard that would often flood. His plant suggestions were great and the work was completed in a timely manner. He and his crew are very hard workers and definitely want you to be happy with the job. Would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them."

"We have a 3 storey house and the team at Brite Idea came out and put up the lights on the house. They had to come out a second day with a longer ladder to finish up but the end job was worth the wait. We did the lights around the bushes which balanced the others beautifully. We agreed to a 3 year contract which suits us since we love having the house lit up for the holidays. I'm sure we'll continue as long as we live here."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Common outdoor lighting issues include faulty or exposed wiring, burnt-out or damaged bulbs, and broken or faulty fixtures. Regular maintenance can help prevent many of these problems.

Inspect for burnt-out bulbs, secure connections, and protect from water exposure to maintain functionality.

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.

Yes, professional landscape lighting is typically worth the investment. Installing a lighting system can improve your home’s curb appeal, safety, and security, and it can also deter burglars. It adds value to your home by creating a brightly-lit outdoor space you can use after dark and making the property more appealing to potential buyers. According to the National Association of Realtors, landscape lighting can add up to $2,500 to your home’s value, and on average, this type of home improvement has a 50% return on investment.

There are a number of reasons that landscape lights burn out, including an incorrectly installed transformer, inconsistent voltage, and burned-out or faulty bulbs. Troubleshoot landscape lighting problems by first determining whether it’s a system-wide problem or an issue with just one light, which will help you get to the bottom of your outdoor lighting woes.
