J Radick Roofing & Siding

Paid xtra for work not done. Capping falling off around roof. Roof leaked since installation. I insisted on contract 10 year warranty on labor. Despite several years of calling and writing letters. He would not respond. Finally giving up. Estimate to fix his work $3,400.

After install, the roof leaked. Radick did minimal repair but claimed it was a skylight problem. He either knew or should have known that it was the roof leaking. Other contractors have determined it was the roof. It is now leaking in two places. He does not use a contract. I wrote a contract that he signed. I have been trying for going on two years to get him to repair his work. He will not respond. He is in violation of the contract he signed. The roof he installed for a neighbor had a huge leak in his enclosed porch. The neighbor had to hire another contractor to repair Radick's work. I contacted other contractors. Their estimates are significant. They also will not guarantee the repairs because of the quality of Radick's work. The capping Radick installed is falling off. It also fell off my next door neighbor's home. Again, contractors said the capping was not installed properly. It is hard to believe that Radick will not honor the contract that he signed. It is highly risky to use this contractor.

Our experience with J. Radick Roofing ("Radick") was a disaster.  We hired Radick to replace our roofing shingles in December, 2012 and paid them in full at the completion of the job.  The company had been highly recommended by multiple neighbors, but in those cases Radick's owner himself had worked on their roofing jobs.  We had expected him to do our roof, too.  We later found out that Radick had subcontracted our job to another roofer without our knowledge or consent.  
We were shocked when five months after the roof was installed we were notified that a lien was to be placed on our house by the subcontractor as Radick had failed to pay them.  (This action by the subcontractor was legal in PA at the time, although it is not now.) Later, the subcontractor filed the lien and sued us in court for the amount Radick owed them plus court costs and attorney's fees.  Radick completely abandoned us during this time, failing to resolve the payment situation with the subcontractor, failing to return our phone calls, emails, and certified letters, and repeatedly lying to us on the few occasions when we spoke with them.  Radick also failed to obey their legal obligations as a Pennsylvania-licensed contractor by failing to resolve the payment situation and failing to inform us of their actions.
We were forced to resolve this situation on our own.  It took over 20 months from the filing of the lien (until January, 2015) for us to secure a partial payment from Radick and negotiate a settlement on the lien, the lawsuit, and the outstanding attorney's
fees.  During this time we incurred thousands of dollars of legal fees, invested countless hours in our own time,
endured months worth of aggravation, and had our credit rating impacted for almost two years, despite the fact that we could prove that we paid Radick on time and in full.  We would never hire Radick again or recommend their services. We plan to file a formal complaint with the Pennsylvania Consumer Protection authorities to notify them of Radick's disreputable business
practices. We wanted to write this review a long time ago but had to be certain that all legalities and the effect on our credit rating had first been resolved.

I communicated with Joe on several occasions before the job on details concerning the job. He was always very responsive getting back to me whenever I left messages. When the date was scheduled to begin work they arrived on time, worked hard,  and did an excellent job. They did a few extra thing like repairing my gutters which was much appreciated. Joe did a great job of explaining things to me as the job was going on. I will definitely will use J.Radick in the future.

They finished the job the day they started. We were away on vacation and returned to a completed job. At the first rain we noticed a seam that had a leak, notified Joe and he had it taken care of the next day. No problems since.

Good professional job

The whole team was very professional. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Previously, they had installed new roofs on neighboring homes. Would definitely recommend J Radick.

They are top notch! I have had many people compliment the siding, window installation, roofing, storm door installation, etc. They were a little busy so it took a little bit longer to get call backs, but worth it. They were far lower in price than the other 3 companies I've called.

I really like them. They did a really nice job. Their quotes were lower than everyone else's. The windows are of top quality. The prices of the windows were also lower. I love these guys. I liked that they were upfront about the pricing. They did a good job. They cleaned up after their work. I'm very happy with them. They were very professional and friendly. They were good. They also do roofing and so I'm going to use them pretty soon for that. I like them very much and I will use them again. Their price was better than everyone else's. They were busy when I had called them because it was close to the end of the year. So people were trying to get their windows done. It took a lot of time for them to get back to me but it was still quick. They were honest. I would use their services again in the future.

J. Radick is a family owned business that has been around for 30 years. They were very professional, honest and neat. They did an excellent job installing our new roof.
