I was referred to Ernie by a friend who Ernie had done work for in the past. I evaluated two carpet installers, both of whom made house calls. Ernie's price came in at about 1/3 the cost of the bigger in home company. The installation went OK except that the measurement was a little short and the installer ran out of carpet just before he was done. Ernie called to apologize and installed the remaining carpet himself a couple of weeks later. The main installation which was time critical because I wanted the carpet installed before I moved into my new home went OK. The installer was a couple of hours late getting to my home and Ernie was always late getting to scheduled appointments. In general, the price and quality of this job were outstanding, but this contractor is not the most punctual.
