We bought our house brand new from Ryland homes, now cal-Atlantic on Oct 30, 2014. Summit electric installed all the electric in our house, including the breakers. I think it's important to know that our home is a 3-level townhouse. Ground level is 2/3 garage and 1/3 finished living area (currently unused space, no electronics, TVs, we turn the light on to leave our house and set the alarm), our 2nd floor is our main living area (kitchen, dining, powder room, living room), and 3rd floor are the bedrooms. Since it's only two people living here, we don't utilize all the space in our home. Including the ground level floor, so it was strange to both us when that particular breaker kept tripping. I immediately spoke with the general contractor of our homes who said to call Summit electric that we have a 2-year warranty on our electric. So I call and since it was a weekend, I left a message. I received a call the next day and I explained my situation. Now a side-bar is that I found out that two of my neighbors had similar situations with their electric. In their cases, breakers kept tripping, and electricians needed to rewire parts of their homes because summit electric put too many things on one breaker. So when I shared my situation and the similar situations of my neighbors to Steve Dudotty at Summit Electric. I was told that my warranty was only for a year and that I could pay for Summit electric to come to see what the problem was but it would cost $120 the first hr and $75 every hour after that. But when I asked how this could be my fault I didn't wire, we paid for a brand new home and expected it to be delivered that way, all I was told was "oh well, you're out of your warranty". What ever happened to being fair? Making a long time customer? Doing the right thing? Would it be asking too much for a service call to the house, checking out what exactly the problem is and then going from there? If in fact it was the original wiring that was the culprit shouldn't we try to work together on a payment? But to just say "oh well". Such a shame. I don't suggest using this company if you're looking for people who are looking out for their customers best interest. They didn't care what was happening to the wiring, they still got paid and clearly that's all this company cares about. My suggestion, find someone else.

I was looking for a whole house generator and we ended up going with the referral from our contractor, it was called Summit Electric Construction. I would give Summit Electric Construction a very high grade, very high rating. I would say the price was competitive. They were great in everyway. They did what they said they were going to do on my budget.
