Eric Yonker Building and Remodeling

I called him and asked for the work he does.
He kept asking me if I owned the home, if I lived there, whether I owned it with my husband or family
I told him he was asking these things repeatedly and I don't understand why
He said that he would not work with me as I am a minority (he also mentioned a curse word)
and hung up on the phone.
The he sends me a text message that he would not work with minority or women as we are too poor to pay him.

I hired Eric to get a rental unit ready to show. I told him the time parameters, he prepared a contract and  said that he could complete all work within the time frame. The work was not done on the day that I had scheduled to show the apartment. Three days later Eric called me to tell me that the work was complete and wanted me to meet him somewhere and to pay him in cash. I said that I would meet him at the property after I had inspected the work. I arrived to find that not only was the work not complete and Eric's trash and debris not cleaned up but that he had damaged the brand new medicine cabinet while installing it.When he arrived and I told him that I wouldn't pay him for work that wasn't finished, he became threatening and I had to call the police.  Via email I told Eric that I would pay him the balance owed minus the work that wasn't finished but rather than accept what was more than fair given the circumstances, Eric filed a complaint in small claims court for the full amount plus   charged me for time he spent going to Home Depot to ask them how to install a light fixture!My experience with Eric Yonker Building and Remodeling  cost me time and money and was truly a nightmare from beginning to end.

Tenants came home to trash everywhere and damaged floors and two walls with significant nicks(from transporting the gas water heater).  While he was on site they stated that they smelled gas two times and he dismissed their concerns.   He told me it was the radiator..couldn't have been the fact that he just played with gas.  We called PGW and when they arrived, they  told us that he had badly flubbed the gas heater installation(missed several connections) and to not let him rectify the job.      We hired another plumber who had to complete redo the installation.   The following morning Eric was calling my tenants and my faithful contractor asking if I was a thief and how I had screwed him.    Who botched the job? After all of this, I offered him  an amount of money that would cover his materials and some of the service(I had already given him half of his pay in the deposit).  He took the check, cashed it and then went to small claims and stated that he was owed(more than the original estimate) and that he performed services effectively and that I didn't respond to his pleas at all.  I tried but he was abusive.   I have dealt with contractors for 15 years and never EVER have dealt with someone this irresponsible/DISHONEST and inappropriate.  He used foul language and sent diabolical text messages.  My lawyer was shocked when he read his messages.  He never took any responsibility for flubbing the job.    My fault for not taking more time to check out his references.
