Shades, Unltd. is a Pennsylvania-based retailer of custom window treatments. We supply a variety of products and services to meet our clients’ shading, privacy, energy efficiency, light management, and aesthetic needs. We focus on providing clients with outstanding service and the finest quality of blinds, shades, draperies, shutters, and fabric awnings. Our service package always includes free design consultation, measurement, and installation. We recently had five windows in our Center City Philadelphia house replaced and were told by the window installers that our existing window treatments no longer fit (an expense we hadn't anticipated). Enter Sal, who not only spent a couple hours helping me select new treatments for our very tall (96and quot;) living-room windows, but also determined that our other existing treatments could, in fact, be reinstalled (I'm very glad we hadn't tossed them yet!). He kindly rehung them AND fixed the shade in our kitchen that had been installed (by another contractor) a bit wonkily--all at no charge. Needless to say, his honesty and expertise resulted in a significant savings for us, for which we are very grateful. When the window treatments for the living-room windows arrived, Sal installed them beautifully, and since he had a ladder with him, he even offered to replace a few lightbulbs that were out. He is a delight to work with, and I very much enjoyed chatting with him during his visits.
For drapery and upholstery, Elaine is not only wonderfully knowledgeable but also a very quick study; from a brief telephone conversation with me, she was able to pinpoint fabric styles that suited my taste. After our initial meeting, she promptly arranged for samples to be sent to me of the fabrics I'd liked best, and she continued to search for possible matches, sending me additional swatches afterward--one of which I ultimately selected for the upholstery for our dining-room chairs. We could not be more pleased with the chairs; the new upholstery is exactly what we wanted and the craftsmanship is beautiful. Elaine, like Sal, is a pleasure to work with, and we cannot thank her enough for her expert advice, patience, and good cheer. In fact, Elaine currently is helping me select drapery fabric for our living-windows, and I have no doubt she will help me find the perfect fabric.

I highly recommend this experienced, family business. Elaine and Bob Deluca are friendly, reliable, and responsive. Shades Unltd. wanted to please the customer.
Elaine Deluca is not only a knowledgeable sales representative, she cared about finding the right blinds for me. I was looking for a hard to find shade of off-white. She ordered manufacturers vane samples in several stains. We even considered custom tinting the blinds and she gathered paint chips for me that might match my dand eacute;cor and even lent me a Benjamin Moore color fandeck. When I found a color I liked without having to custom tint, Elaine took the extra step of sending me a vane sample from the manufacture’s current stock to confirm the color.
After Elaine’s initial sales visit, she and her husband Bob stopped by to confirm measurements, discuss details and answer questions. After many promptly replied to emails and many good ideas from Elaine, I selected wood blinds that I very much liked. Delivery was sooner than I expected and installation was expertly done by Bob. I don’t just have window coverings, but thanks to Elaine, I have blinds that are a decorative statement.
Elaine communicated with the management of my Center City Philadelphia high-rise apartment building about the contractor’s rules and insurance requirements making that an easier part of the project for me. All paperwork—proposals, receipts etc.—were prompt, complete and professional.

When I contacted the company via email, the response back was almost immediate. Their service was timely, meeting with us within a week of initial contact. Bringing several samples, great recommendations were made on options.
They would have installed the blinds within a few days of receiving them from the manufacturer but we were not available. They accommodated the first date I gave for our availability. They even called a few days later with additional thoughts on how we could apply a finished look to the largest blind's header.
The blinds are gorgeous. I have at least one more room to do and I will definitely be contacting Shades, Unltd.

First was our upstairs children's rooms. Everything went well, we were not quite ready for installation and Shades Unltd. worked with our schedule. Meetings were at my convenience not theirs....which was great because I work a full time job. Willing to work on any day that worked best for the homeowner.
Next was our master bedroom, had a hard time making decisions but with Elaine's help, I love every aspect of our master bedroom. She even helped with our paint selection.
It takes a lot of time to do a job right and Shades Unltd really put every effort possible into the job.
