Shortly after moving into our new home we decided to install a retractable awning above our 10" x 12' rear patio. We received two bids on the project. One was from the representative of a nationally advertised product, the other was from a local provider. With respect to price both bids were quite competitive. We chose to grant the bid to the Fehl Awning Company, the local concern. It was the owner of the business who came to our home to take the measurements, tell us about our options, and to prepare the estimate.
He was vending a product that was equal to or better than the quality of the competing brand and there was not a significant difference in price. We decided to do business with the Fehl Awning Company because it is a local concern, and, more importantly because the owner demonstrated great pride in both his product and his company.
Just more than three weeks passed from the time our order was placed until the time our awning was installed. There were three installers,including the business owner. Watching the installation, is was easy to see that all three men were experienced, knowledgeable, and that their goal was to do quality work. Their goal was met and met well. All of that it what one would reasonably expect. Most craftspersons do a reasonable job of cleaning up after their work is complete. The Fehl Awning Company takes that expectation a step or two further. At the end of the project our patio was probably cleaner than when the installers arrived.
The Fehl Awning company provides a good quality, reasonably priced product, that is installed with pride and professionalism. That is what we expected of a small, locally owned business; that is exactly what we got.

When we bought our home one of the things that attracted us to the property was the fixed awning. It has been very sturdy over the years and provided protection from sun and rain. Each year Fehl comes to erect the awning on the deck which is on the second level of our home in the spring and then removes it in the fall. They will store it on your own site or at theirs and if needed, they will clean or refurbish it over the winter months.
After 15 years of use the awning finally needed replacing. Fehl had the original specs and after we chose the fabric design, they sewed us a new awning.
They have always been friendly and professional. We have be thrilled year after year with their well made and well priced services. You can't go wrong!
