He was wonderful! The place we had put a brand new hot tub wasn't as level as we thought. We did our best to level it using a hand saw and precut shims but decided to have it checked by someone more knowledgeable. He was able to make it out that day and cut the custom shims, installed them, and cleaned up quickly!

Great! Harvey shopped for the best door prices that fit my rather exacting standards, and installed them beautifully. A successful job at a great price. The grout work was perfect.

The work was excellent. I have an old house and have hired a lot of contractors. Harvey is one of the guys who cares as much about your house as you do.

It went incredibly well. Bob was on time for the appointment to give me an estimate. It only took him 5 minutes to help me decide how I wanted the work done. He agreed to research for me what kind of molding to buy and send me the info for me to approve or not. Which he did, and it was very inexpensive. He also arrived on time for the appointment to do the work, having bought the molding I had agreed to - and it was the right shade! He also had anticipated a potential problem and come up with a solution ahead of time. He did the work thoroughly and expertly, and the cost was very reasonable. I can't recommend them highly enough!

.All of the jobs go well. He is meticulous and conscientious. He tries to do things well without driving up costs. You have to wait to get him on a job because he is in demand but it is well worth it.

Called provider last summer, who explained he was too busy to take on new work.
Called again today and, though Harvey was very cordial, he explained he is too busy to accept new work, nor has he done so for the past (3) months.
As Harvey couldn't say 'when' he would be available then, in the interim, Angie's List should remove his name from its database so as not to disappoint other Angie's List customers.
Response from Harvey The Handyman
"This Angie's List member is accurate in her report...I have been trying to get caught up with work but have remained backed up with promised work. What happens is that my repeat customers will get back in touch with more work they'd like done, often greenlighting projects without even needing an estimate because they've grown to trust me and, of course, I give them preferential treatment since they have been so loyal. They get put in the queue and because of that (and recently, the weather) the line has not gotten any shorter in quite a while. Sorry about the inflexibility...being a one-man operation has its beauty and simplicity and ability to control the quality of the product....and its drawbacks as far as the amount of work I can crank out in a week. Thanks for understanding. peace, Harvey"

I was disappointed since he was also referred by some friends, but he was unavailable to do the work we needed.

I contacted Harvey by email with a list of stuff I needed done. He responded promptly by email apologizing that he booked for 10-12 weeks and unable to take on new work right now. I very much appreciate his honesty and directness.

I'm so happy I found Harvey! The finished job looks wonderful! I'm thrilled that he was able to diagnose the problem and fix it. He was professional, and really thought about the best way to do the job. He uses excellent quality materials, is very exact and the finished job is great.

He never even had the courtesy/professionalism of telling me he wasn't interested or couldn't do the job.
Response from Harvey The Handyman
"Member; No possible defense here. You are correct in everything you state and I simply have been so swamped with work that I occasionally do drop the ball and lose some call backs in the process. Your's was one of those times. I offer my apology....it wasn't that I don't care enough to respond...it's more an organizational failing, running a one man band as I am. My work is good....my office skills sometimes "need improvement" as my kindergarten teacher would say! Again, my apologies. peace, Harvey"

He removed old oven/microwaive and reconfigured cabinet to accomodate new double wall oven. He then re-ran electrical wiring, installed double oven, painted cabinet and then cleaned up afterward. Beautiful job.

This was a tricky thing that I tried to do myself...bad idea. The new chandelier wouldn't fit where the old one was, one problem being a big pipe hanging down that was concealed by the old chandelier. I think it was from gas lighting - early 1900's. Anyway, I pulled the old one down and just stared at the the ceiling, realizing that I was over my head. I called Harvey and over he came. A few hours later he ingeniously solved the pipe problem and the new chandelier looked beautiful in our dining room!!! We were very pleased.

Harvey is very easy to work with and extremely friendly and accomodating. His estimate is spot-on. He researched the job very well. The work was completed in the timeframe agreed upon. Despite the very cramped space he was able to keep the bathroom and surrounding spaces very clean. I will definately call Harvey in the future.

Called him. Asked me to send an email instead. I sent an email and never heard back from him. Will not deal with him again.
Response from Harvey The Handyman
"this member is correct in the reported facts....I did, in fact, lose their information and occasionally during really busy times I misplace stuff and/or fail to get back to everyone who asks for estimates during a crunch. As a 1 man operation my goal is to get back to everyone who contacts me and I have fallen short of that goal. It's more important to me that once I commit to doing the work that it be excellent work, but if I had to self critique it would be that I'm still trying to get the "homework" organizational stuff a little more consistent. thanks for understanding. peace, Harvey"
