This has dragged out for yrs trying to get some justice, my house is undone and I have a mortgage due to this contractor taking funds he should not have. There is no way I will ever be compensated for damages even though I won judgement against him in Mercer County Pa. court. It was a disaster that I am still finding mistakes with, he totally took advantage and was totally disrespectful, did very poor quality. I don't believe he even tried, all his materials were substandard also, so he had as little money into project as possible, and charged for work that was not complete. Follow up report: I took him to court, he was served papers to try to resolve the issue, he would not respond when served papers, on 12/18/09 the court of common pleas of Mercer County, Pennsylvania civil action law N0. 2009-3913 a judgment in my favor against defendant Jeff Baker aka Jeff Baker contracting and remodeling at 345 Old Mercer Road, Volant, Pa 16156. I was awarded the sum of $32,860, plus legal interest. He refused to respond to any papers serve by sheriff office or reg. mail. Don't hire this person unless you want to lose your money and have to hire another to fix damages!

He started out by not acclimating wood as it should have been and when it shrunk he blamed the person who provided the wood, lying about what he did wrong, it got worse from there, I have had 6 contractors in since I fired him, 3 refused to touch it because of the mess he has made and the others agree that the work is very bad quality and it will cost just as much to fix correctly as what he was paid. He is now trying to add costs and bill me for work he already received money for.
