It went just fine, but I also stayed with the nursery workers to ensure the tree hole was sufficient in size to avoid root girdling issues which I have experienced with other nurseries.

Sugar run has the nicest plant selection in this area hands down! Ever since Sean took over a few years ago the quality has only gotten better and the customer service he and the nursery manager Steve provide is second to none. If you need plants this is the nursery to go to!

They are excellent. It was a very good experience. I found ad in the newspaper I didn't even know that they were in Angie's List. I would use them again in the future.

Sugar Run Nursery are friendly but there is no follow through. They were expensive and I would not use them again.
Response from Sugar Run Nursery
"It's a shame that someone can post comments like this based on sheer ignorance. We keep records of everything we do. During the service year in which the commenter is referring to, on two separate trips (to accommodate their schedule) we trimmed, edged, mulched, and cut (6) 2 foot wide stumps in the back yard to a level below the ground to save costs over bringing in a large stump grinder. We used 42 yards of mulch, had 27 man hours edging all of your beds, had nine hours of expert horticultural pruning, fertilized every plant in the yard, treated all of your roses and select trees with systemics, and replaced dead plants (for the third time) because you didn't water them. All of this for a price that, in the local industry, would be considered by all to be highly discounted.., because you were a "good customer". In response to "no follow through", our records actually indicate the opposite. On June 8th, while on our separate trip to do the back, we sprayed the front and side yards for weeds. On June 20th, we sprayed for weeds and applied deer repellant. On July 10th, we spot sprayed for weeds and replaced even more plants that you failed to properly maintain and/or water. On July 31st, we spot sprayed for weeds and sprayed all of the roses for powdery mildew. August 17th, sprayed for weeds. October 11th, spot sprayed for weeds and applied deer repellant. On October 19th, applied deer repellant and replaced yet even more plants that were not watered. October 28th, applied deer repellant. November 7th, applied deer repellant. All of these dates and services were provided free of charge. I am not sure what this customer expects from our company because we were granted the privilege to put down the mulch.. These are the facts. It is a shame that an ignorant customer (by definition of ignorance) has the right to post untruths at their own will. Landscaping is the "manipulation of nature"..; requiring an understanding of the "nature" of nature. Having an award winning landscape, (as Sugar Run's work won your yard an award) relies heavily on a commitment from both the Homeowner and the Landscaping Firm. Clearly we held up our end of the bargain, only to receive bad grades on a site like this."

They are pretty knowledgable out there. They have good products there but they are not cheap and they do charge a delivery charge.

We've absolutely been happy with them, they are pretty knowledgeable.  Sometimes you might wait if they're busy but they are good.  I've recommended them to others.

We went to Sugar Run Nursery and spoke to Dana who offered to come look at our yard and offer suggestions.  She was extremely knowledgeable about design, plants, shrubs and trees.  After a few visits to the house, she designed a drawing in late fall for our back and side yards.  We were contacted by Joe, the owner of Sugar Run Nursery who presented a proposal to us in April.  Joe also met with us a few times before the project started to present different options.  The planting began in May.  Joe is a hands-on owner, pays attention to every single detail, and treats the project like it's his own home.  The result was beyond our expectations and we couldn't be more grateful to Joe, Dana, and all the workers at Sugar Run.  We will enjoy their work for many years to come!   Our only regret was not doing it sooner.

As opposed to going to a big box store, at Sugar Run, all of the employees are educated in their products. They can advise you as to what is the best trees for your area, and what you are looking for. We have used them twice in the last 4 years, but have used them before this for other trees. They have a warranty with their trees. If someting happens to one of the trees, they will replace it.
