Everything was great!

For Fortunato Landscaping, Greg is a great salesman. Unfortunately, he doesn't deliver, or honor the warranty and has a temper. 1. exterior lighting. We had talked about putting in exterior lighting, but I had not yet approved. One day I got home from work, and there Greg was finishing the installation at the tune of $2500 on a small lot. He said he assumed I wanted it, but he would take it out if I didn't want it. I told him to let it remain. MISTAKE. It was poorly installed with wire lines running through flower beds, which was only a matter of time before they were going to get cut by a shovel. When I went to have the wires moved, it was impossible because they didn't provide enough latitude in the wiring to move them even an inch further out. Also, the wiring into the connection was shoddily done with exposed wire in some instances. 2. Inferior product. I three instances, some shrubs had dead branches or started to brownout. Greg said it was just trauma from being transplanted. He said he would replace them if they didn't come back. They all died. He did replace them but said it was my fault because I didn't water them. In reality, previously, he complimented me earlier in the summer on my watering. There was a 2 week period at the end of the summer, which I was only able to water periodically for a personal emergency. He billed me for 3 evergreen trees at full retail plus installation. I did not pay. 3. Over the course of a year, almost all of the materials he replanted on my property originally have died. 1 costly tree he brought in died. But the kicker was I had asked for 3 verbena to be planted in the front garden. I told him they did not look like verbena, and he assured me they were. The reality is they were not - they were an ordinary shrub like a butterfly bush. Greg was long gone by then, even though still under warranty- he refused to answer my phone calls, texts, or emails.

We were asked what the budget was and then charged $20,000 more than what was indicated to him. Our front and back yard is no longer level, has no grass that came in, is covered in crabgrass, and so rutted and uneven in the back yard it is precarious to walk without turning an ankle. Greg sent his crew to replant the grass and they spent 7 minutes at our house with no grass growing as the result. Ten days ago Greg said he would be over 7 days ago but we haven’t seen or heard from him since.

I was looking for a fresh look to our home. It was overgrown with bushes, small trees and had absolutely no curb appeal. After discussing what we were looking for, Greg provided a price range that was agreeable with our budget. We weren't expecting service so quickly as they quoted several weeks with their given back log. Within a week, we came home and almost drove past our house because it was UNRECOGNIZABLE. I mean it didn't even look the same. Greg and his crew ripped out the existing shrubs/trees, created several undulating flower beds filled with roses and beautiful mini-trees and maintainable shrubs. The icing on the cake was some of the rock work he created to give it a well designed feel. I'm sure my neighbors think i hit the lottery or something with how much of an upscale look it added to our home. I can't recommend Greg enough to people that are debating whether to invest the cost or not. I would imagine you'd be hard pressed to find a company that takes the time to communicate and then follow up and make sure you're happy with the service (as well as provide maintenace/watering tips to keep it looking great).

Greg and his son are delightful and work together with a crew that is hard working; professional, know what they are doing and they do it very well, as well as working quickly. He isn't cheap... remember the old cliche YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. A handyman will NOT give you this quality or effort... not to mention the amount of work that is accomplished in one day with 6 men working. Fully intend to save money to have them back in a few months for more work.

This was a great experience. I contacted Greg based on his good reviews. I needed some of the existing beds fixed up and a general cleanup and mulch effort. He called me the next day and stopped by the house to see. He told me what he thought I needed, recommended not ripping out a few rose bushes but rather trim them back, and gave me a pretty tight range based on the amount of labor he anticipated. Once I agreed he told me it would be in the next 2 weeks. To my surprise when I cam home the following day it was complete. The cost was the high end of his range, but he also planted a few small things for color which we hadn't talked about and that worked out great. His suggestions worked and the yard looks great!! Greg came by later that evening to check on my satisfaction and give me some advice on upkeep during the summer. I would absolutely hire Greg and his team again.

I would highly recommend GFL. Greg and his team not only performed well above expectations. The creativity and service after the sale was not a surprise. They made several trips to check on the work solved an unforeseen drainage issue, and were one of the most friendly contractors Ive ever dealt with. The best part was the price. I'm very frugal and was blown away by the affordability. I will be calling GFL in the spring for more work.

Greg Fortunato is a top-notch business owner who helps you create a beautiful outdoor space. His prices are fair and reasonable. He exceeded our expectations by providing recommendations for our yard that we had not thought of on our own. He is extremely knowledgeable. He is not just it in for the next sale. We wanted a few things done that would have not done well over time given the location, soil, and weather we are dealing with -- instead of just giving us what we wanted, he made other recommendations, at a lower cost, to ensure we would be satisfied in the long run with the products and services he provided. Customer service is outstanding - they show up when they say they are going to show up and completes the job on time transforming the yard. Highly recommend Greg and his crew.

The job went better than expected. Our original landscaper had to back out of the project due to some issues with his crew. Greg stopped by to quote the job and said he could squeeze us in within the next couple days. Greg and his guys showed up on time and knocked out the job. At the end of the project Greg went over watering instructions for the short and long term.
