This company is honest, responsive, and professional.  I contacted Nichol for an outside bibb/valve to a garden hose that was leaking.  Chris came out to look at it for no charge.  I told them to go ahead to replace a bibb for about $200.  When the plumber came out they found that it only needed to be tightened and repaired it for $57.  It was very honest of them to not do any unnecessary work.  I would have been ok if it did get replaced, but the integrity is impressive.

They scheduled fast, arrived early, and communicated well.  The plumber was very courteous.

The estimate we received was much lower than the other estimate, yet based on the reviews here we felt confident with Nichols so we hired them.

On the day of the service the plumber arrived on time and worked on cutting into the existing gas line, adding new connectors, then running the new line behind the dryer.  We asked him to run the line in a specific location so that we could place cabinets on the wall behind the dryer.  He understood and did exactly as we requested.

 

Next, the plumber replaced the original faucets supplying water to our washer with a single brass shutoff valve.  Shortly after the plumber left we had a pinhole leak near the shutoff valve.  Most likely this was caused by the age of the pipe and being exposed to heat during the soldering process.  Regardless, we called the office and they sent out another plumber within the hour.  He repaired the problem at no cost so we were very happy.

 

Based on our initial experience with Nichols we would definitely hire them again for our next plumbing project.

First, I need to mention that I called with a blockage in the main bathroom at 8:15AM on a Monday, and Nichols was able to have someone at my house that same morning at 8:45AM. They put me and my issue as a priority which is a HUGE plus in my mind. Two of Nichols employees serviced my house, and tenaciously worked for two days until the issue was solved. What my husband and I thought was just a localized blockage was actually rust and lime deposits that had completely blocked the sewage pipe from the
third floor all the way through to the basement. Nichols worked and worked and worked until clearing the entire line inside of my house. I would definitely recommend Nichols. They will solve your problem, give you advice on what to look out for in the future, and will work until they know that the problem is fixed.

On 10/14/14 I noticed the hot water all of a sudden get very hot (160 degrees from 130 degrees).  I called Nichols Plumbing, and they came out to inspect the water heater within an hour in the late afternoon.  We discovered that water was collecting at the bottom of the tank and there were brown streaks coming from the top coil.  He said he would come over the next morning and replace the tank and haul out the old tank.  The old electrical tank was twelve years old.
A young technician showed up on time and proceeded to do the work.  We also discovered the cold water shutoff valve was highly corroded.  I had him replace the valve with a new ball valve.  I am slowly but surely replacing all my old valves with ball valves.  
The job took about three hours from emptying the old tank to filling the new tank.  Thankfully the new tank was an exact replacement for the old tank.
I have been using Nichols Plumbing for decades, and I'm always very happy with their work.  Their prices are not the lowest nor are they the highest.  They are fair.  I would not use any other plumber because the price is well worth their promptness, professionalism, great quality of work, and their excellent clean up.
Nichols Plumbing is my plumber and will be in the future.  I highly recommend them.

They aren't the cheapest out there, but they certainly do quality work. It was done on a timely fashion and they were ok to work on a condo.

They were fine and there were no problems. They had a crew come in and they worked two days. They got it done when they said they would. We got other bids and they were anywhere from $500-$2,000 higher. They were very responsive and very professional.

Ok . We made the mistake of using a company in Lancaster Pa to supply the ultraviolet system. When it came to replacing the ultraviolet bulb they sent the wrong bulb to the plumber so he had to come back another time. Once the piping was fixed the job was satisfactory.

My wife realized it was turning way too cold even with the heater switched on. I then called Nichols Plumbing and Heating and the serviceman was at my doorstep in 2 hours. He then detected the problem to be with the censor and fixed the same. He also taught me minor trouble shoots and how to take the panel on and off. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

PLUMBER WENT TO THE WRONG APPOINTMENT FIRST (OR SO I WAS TOLD BY THE OFFICE), SO HE ARRIVED 2-1/2 HOURS AFTER THE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT TIME (30 MINUTES LATE FOR EVEN THE REVISED ARRIVAL TIME I WAS QUOTED). FRIENDLY, WORKED QUICKLY. CLEANED OUT OUR BOILER AND FLUE, BLED AIR OUT OF ALL THE RADIATORS. WAS ONSITE FOR ALMOST PRECISELY ONE HOUR, BUT CHARGED FOR 1.5 HOURS. WHEN ASKED, HE SAID THEY CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME ALSO.

ARRIVED ON-TIME. FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. QUICK-WORKER, RUSHED A BIT. HAD ESTIMATED ONE-HOUR LABOR ($98 AS I RECALL) PLUS PARTS, BUT HAD TO RUN FOR A FITTING (ARRIVED WITH 1/2-INCH TO 1/2-INCH FITTING, BUT NEEDED 1/2-INCH TO 3/8-INCH), WHICH TOOK ABOUT 25 MINUTES. BUT WHILE THE JOB TOOK A LITTLE MORE THAN AN HOUR, HE ONLY CHARGED FOR THE ORIGINALLY QUOTED AMOUNT OF TIME.
