Sheila Nottage was our agent. She was very patient with us as we took over a year to find a new home that suited us. Time and again, she helped us to see the benefits of different homes but NEVER pressured us to go forward on anything just to close a deal. When the time came to finally list our home (once we found a new one to buy), she truly represented our interests and emulated the highest standards of integrity and ethics in the entire process, which made us trust her even more. We had some difficulties with the seller of our new home. They were unreasonable and wanted to keep some of our money at the settlement table that they were not entitled to. Sheila maintained professionalism the entire time but made it clear to the other agent that this was not acceptable or ethical. The sellers agent didn't want to budge and things got a bit heated between them so us buyers moved to another conference room to wait it out. After about 20 minutes of us waiting in another room, Sheila came and told us that the seller agreed to release that money back to us. Apparently, the sellers agent hadn't explained to her client why we deserved the money back so when Sheila patiently explained it to him, he agreed. If that wasn't enough, Sheila went beyond what we expected of her by calling us a month or so afterwards to make sure a camper trailer that had been left in the driveway by the sellers was removed. When I told her it wasn't, she made repeated calls to the sellers agent and the seller (with his permission) to have them remove it. This was after she had been paid her commission and could've walked away from the entire situation.
