Steve Shaffer Tree Service

Steve was the lowest bid out of 4 Tree Services.  But that is not why we decided to have him do the work.  Steve showed up, listened to me, and told me he'd need some time to look at the job.  Others explained if the large tree were not brought down correctly, the tree would explode, doing a lot of damage to the adjacent golf course tee.  Steve surveyed the job for some time,  I went back to some yard work, while he looked at every tree from every angle.  He planned his job.  Then came over to me and gave me an itemized bill.  Steve listened well, gave the job the most thought, and had a great personality.  I felt I could trust him, and closed the negotiations with a handshake.
He arrived ahead of schedule and quickly showed that his planning and 30 years experience were huge assets.  Watching him climb high in the trees and carefully piece them down was mesmerizing.
The crew got more done than I expected.  The one stump was cut so low, we were able to plant grass right over top with a layer of compost.  My wife insisted that she wanted the large stump removed.  Steve cut it so level, my wife quickly did an iPhone search for the best way to preserve a stump and is using it as a base for her birdbath and flower pot.  It is actually one of the better points of the back yard.
We have some other trees that will probably need to be cut down at some point.  We wouldn't think of having anyone else do 
the work.
