I was extremely happy with Piotr's work and have recommended him to family members who also have needed radio remediation or related services.
I had gotten an estimate from both Piotr (Radon Gone Inc.) and another firm. Both had come recommended via realtor word of mouth. Radon Gone Inc.'s estimate came in notably lower than the other firm and a major bonus was that Piotr had given both the estimate and would be doing the one doing the work. (I would've also been okay if he was supervising the work, but have gotten burned with some prior home improvement where the person who did the estimate was not the person doing the work, I'm very reluctant to go for that, especially when it involves drilling holes in things.)
I really liked how Piotr discussed everything that was going to be done before he started work so there were no surprises about what was being done or what would be drilled or mounted where, etc. He was detail oriented and it was clear to me that he was listening and paying attention to the things I said and he wasn't just nodding to get me out of his hair. (Again, bad experiences with other home improvement people.)
I'm very happy with how the pipe looks on the outside of the house, especially since I had recently put on new siding and didn't want my house to immediately look bad. The pipe is located fairly unobtrusively at the back of my house and looks like it's solidly attached. One thing I like that maybe is a small thing is that the pipe curves horizontally at the end and has a grate on it. I have seen various radon systems where the pipe just goes straight up without a cap that I can see, and it seems like they'd get water in the system. I've also seen cases where they try and camouflage the pipe to look like a downspout for part of the run, but those also seem weird. And I've lived in apartments where birds have managed to make their way into my bathroom vent line because there wasn't a grate. So while I wasn't super concerned about a bird moving into my radon pipe, it's a nice thing to not have to worry about.
In summary, I was extremely happy with Piotr and Radon Gone Inc. and would recommend him to others. I do believe he had a bit of a drive to get to Berwyn, but it's my impression he's happy to do it and has a very wide area of operation.
