John was easy to work with and completed work as planned. Pricing was reasonable for the amount of work and he stuck to his estimate despite some areas being more involved than expected. Initial quality of the work seemed good but there some areas where more attention to detail would have been appreciated: e.g. the mortar was a poor match with the existing pointing and we had to stain the concrete edging of the sidewalk ourselves to make it appear less at odds with surrounding materials. The sidewalk flagstones heaved more that i would have expected during the first winter. John came out and re-laid the worst offenders at no additional charge but the overall pitch of the sidewalk remains slightly back to the wall so rain / snow melt tends to pool back on the sidewalk and re-freeze rather than draining off into the road gutter.
