The home inspection done my Kevin Thompson went great! He was very thorough during the inspection covering the in’s and out’s of the home I arrived at the home about 30 minutes before he was done with the inspection, he pointed out the things that needed fixing and took many digital pictures which is awesome, cause I can use them to show a handy man what needs fixing! He was very friendly and professional and I would recommend him and his team to service anyone that needs a home inspection! Thank you Kevin

They did a very comprehensive job. I had several questions for which the technician suggested I contact the office to arrange for a conference with Kevin Thompson, the owner. Kevin was very helpful and spent over 40 minutes with me making suggestions and answering questions. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Kevin and his team are absolutely fantastic. We originally hired him to perform a stucco inspection of our newly purchased home and ended up having him to a complete re-inspection of the property. His knowledge about home issues is extensive. In addition to providing really, really detailed reports for us, he always explained everything fully and gladly answered any questions we had. If you are thinking about purchasing a property, you should definitely have Green Valley Group do the inspection so that you can actually make an informed decision about whether to purchase the home or not. We have recommended him every chance we get to family and friends!

Needless to say, the radon test needed to be redone bc we had to open the windows due to the gas leak. He showed up late at our home without notice to replace the radon inspection device. I am so disappointed that a professional that owns a business did not take responsibility for the gas leak and most of all, that he didn't warn us about the carbon monoxide in the basement.
Response from The Green Valley Group
"As a professional home inspection organization with over 12 years of experience and thousands and thousands of inspections under our belt we take all feedback seriously, as our reputation within the industry and word of mouth referrals are largely what drives our business. In a case like this where we were engaged by the buyer of a property for inspection services, who was ultimately very satisfied with the services we provided, it can be difficult to craft an appropriate response to such a negative review from the seller. In general, as a home inspector sometimes we are the bearers of bad news for sellers. Sometimes unanticipated issues arise with their property related to material defects, deferred maintenance, or safety issues. Our job as inspectors, in accordance with the Standard of Practice that we follow, is to observe and report. We also do not invasively or disruptively evaluate the home during a home inspection (we do not move or relocate furniture, appliances, etc.). In the case of safety issues, we do have an obligation to alert homeowners of anything that we encounter that may put the homeowners or others in harms way. As a professional and high integrity home inspection company, we followed the Standard of Practice for this inspection, communicated appropriately onsite regarding safety issues, and produced a custom report with all related findings. Unfortunately, from our perspective, and based on the well documented realities of our limited interaction with the sellers, the best that we can do to address the seller's concerns is to acknowledge that they were upset, and note that we were thorough, accurate and truthful in our approach to this inspection and our interaction with all involved parties, and that we professionally handled all aspects of the inspection, which resulted in a happy customer who was satisfied in our role in the transaction."

From start to finish, the Green Valley Group was a pleasure to work with. Setting up a date for the moisture survey was easy, and Kevin arrived on time. We had used a different inspector to perform a moisture survey on our house before we bought it so I was able to compare the way they went about their work. Kevin was much more thorough, as he tested many more locations around the house including the top corners of several walls. He was also much more careful about the way he caulked the holes he needed to drill during testing so the caulk would form a stronger bond with the stucco.
Unfortunately, the results of the test were not good -- there were numerous high moisture readings. Kevin took his time while explaining the bad news to me and the written moisture survey he generated was extremely detailed. Later, well after Kevin's work was done, I was having trouble making a final decision between two remediation contractors. Kevin provided helpful advice regarding the right questions to ask the contractors, which helped me resolve the remaining issues. So despite receiving bad news I was very happy with the work of the Green Valley Group.

Excellent experience. Kevin is very knowledgeable and professional, but above all, he took time to understand the specific needs and expectations specific to my family as we prioritized work on the home. His expertise has been immensely valuable in the renovation process.

Needed to schedule a last minute appointment for an invasive stucco inspection to meet a contract deadline for a home purchase.  The Green Valley Group responded to my inquiry right away, and were able to schedule an appointment within the time we needed.  The finalized report for the stucco inspection was very professional and thorough.  They also provided helpful insight and recommendations on how to move forward with repairs and maintenance.  Highly recommend.

Kevin Thompson was asked to inspect the stucco on a home we were in the process of purchasing. He replied very quickly to messages left with The Green Valley Group. He showed up on time, performed a thorough inspection and concluded the day with a complete report. He then spent over an hour explaining his observations and recommendations. I highly recommend Kevin and the The Green Valley Group when looking for an excellent home inspector.

Kevin Thompson is a good stucco inspector.  He does home inspections as well.  I've been recommending him to all my friends.  I spent $400 for the stucco inspection and $400 for the home inspection.  Kevin was super professional and very nice.  He would totally talk to one and even though he was a man talking about structural things I didn't feel like he thought I was dumb and I loved that.  He told me the truth.  I had had another stucco inspector and he did not tell me the truth, but this guy was just amazing.  I passed him on to everybody and I fully trusted him.
