They showed up when they said they would. Left everyday after cleaning up and putting everything away. Did all the work on schedule. Ture professional job start to finish.

Very happy with everything from quoting to job completion. We signed the contract in May of 2016 but were told it would be September before they could do the job. It did take longer than anticipated because the full crew was stuck on another job where there had been quite a few changes along the way, adding to the time frame. We were very happy with the job and the end result. Only complaint is that I wish I had known how much the side yard would get torn up from the heavy equipment needed to dig before it happened. They made every effort to minimize, but it still happens. Love the space and that they were able to open it up into one continuous space, as we wanted.

Edited 03/05/2015 - Our project was completed in late October 2013.  The winter of 2013 to 2014 was rough and the 2014 - 2015 winter has been brutal.  I am ECSTATIC about the job That Erie Custom Exteriors did for us.   I am a volunteer with county emergency services, so I know what is going on in my community and I also have the opportunity to talk to a lot of people.  I know many families who have had issues with water entry through windows, addition seams, cracked plaster due to the extreme frost line and their hone shifting etc....  We have not had a single issue at all with the overall construction despite two very severe winters.  For that reason I changed my quality rating from a "B" to an "A"/  As I said earlier....I am VERY particular and some of the little details that bothered me might not even be noticed by others.  But I am impressed that everything related to the overall construction itself from foundation to framing to roofing to windows....You name it....Not one single issue with the structural integrity.

To be fair to Erie Customer Exteriors.....As you look at the and quot;Band quot; grades listed above it must be recognized that the weather sucked from the start of this project right through to the end. Ten more inches of rain than normal (25% more than average) created substantial delays during the foundation stage of the project. The wet weather put not only our project, but all projects that this contractor and his subcontractors had started behind schedule and never really permitted them to get caught up. Thus Erie Custom was unboubtedly trying to keep multiple customers happy, and that meant pulling their workers off to other jobs at times. I spoke with numerous subcontractors during our work period as I kept a hands on apporach to the project and they were all weeks to months behind schedule. Weather delays, combined with material shortages caused by some large industrial projects in the area and the unexpected problems that WILL ALWAYS crop up in a job of this size turned an eight week job into a six month job. That said....
The quality of the extensive exterior stone work was first rate. The installation of the kitchen cabinetry and the walk in shower were first rate. There were some issues with some specialized work that would have been better off subcontracted, but Erie Custom worked with us to resolve those issues and we are satisfied with how they were resolved. The price for the project was high, but was reasonable given the extensive exterior stone work, the custom kitcfhen cabinetry, and the other custom touches that were involved.
The one item that I would recommend that folks keep an eye on is to make sure that the contractor and the subcontractors use suitable protection for the remaining areas of the room and / or house. This was hit and miss at times. The use of a few more drop cloths would have spared us a considerable amount of cleaning time for item like the carpeting during the plastering and painting. Nothing was destroyed. Just more work on our part to keep everything not being replaced in good condition and this could have been easily avoided. This is why there is a and quot;Band quot; grade under professionalism. I still gave them an and quot;Aand quot; grade under the and quot;Overalland quot; category because I believe that they can easily address these items and I thinmk they will make an effort to do so. And again, to be fair..... I have had simalar situations with many other contractors we have used in the past.
The bottom line is that I would use them again with two caveats.....The first would be to make sure that better surface protection was used. The second would be to look at any specialized portions of the job and if it is not something they are familiar with (Both in terms of the product itself and the installation process), then discuss whether subcontracting that portion of the job might be wise. Just understand that subcontracting will most likely increase your cost to some extent.
The only other suggestion I would make for any large project and perhaps even some small ones being undertaken with any contractor or service provider.....Consider having a and quot;Completed byand quot; date in the contract. Be reasonable in your expectations and allow enough time for the delays that will inevitably occur. Having such a date in any contract just helps to keep everyone honest and will provide you with a much better idea of how long the project may take.

They were very responsive getting back to me with the original quote, and made very good suggestions on the projects and some extras (like ceiling fan and lights) that really added a lot to the look and enjoyment of the new porch. They arrived on time every day, and completed the whole project in 8 days which was a lot faster than I expected. They did a good job of cleaning up after the project was completed. We have gotten many compliments on the work, and people actually stop at our house to ask who did the work.

I thought the overall price was a little on the high side, but still fair.

The only problem we had was the ceiling started to sag a year after the project was finished, and parts of it actually fell down. The staples used to hold it up had pulled lose. It took about 5 phone calls to get someone to call back (due to a death in family), and when they did they came back to repair the ceiling, one of the panels cracked during the repair, and will have to be replaced when the warmer weather for 2012 arrives, so this is still a bit of an unresolved issue.
